Foolio_Displasius
How feasible do you think it would be to make cheaper Grey Knight Terminators by mixing one box of proper GKTs with 1+ boxes of normal SM Termies? I've taken a peek at the Grey Knight Terminator sprue pics available online. I've also seen pics online of the current SM Terminator plastics (all of mine are the ooooold plastics). Based on what I've seen, the kits look fairly inter-changeable; I just have not yet taken the plunge on either kit. The only real challenge looks like the back-piece, but those could probably be cut down to the right shape... ToI
Well I'm pretty sure that mixing and matching wont save you any money in this case, as the Grey knights terminator kit is the same as the regular terminator box....but yeah, if you really want to I don't see why you couldn't kit bash them and have a good time... Carmine_the_Wolf
Both boxes are 27.70 in GBP so you'd really have to find a bargain to make it cost effective. But if you can have a look at the article in the tutorials section on converting them. Foolio_Displasius
@ToI - Sorry, I should have phrased my post better: If the kits are compatible, then loose Termie bitz (or full AoBR sprues) could be an inexpensive way to stretch what you get from a box of GKTs. @Carmine_the_Wolf - Thanks for the reminder about the tutorials section! I found two that seem particularly relevant. This one is a classic I remember seeing many years ago. The big downside is the prominent "hump" left over from the Termie's back-piece: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...ic+grey+knights This one is similar but more pre-Heresy in appearance. The shoulderpads somewhat mitigate the "hump" issue: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=189031 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225260-compatibility-of-grey-knight-sm-termie-kits/#findComment-2699422 Share on other sites
henrywalker
i had a similar idea. try the Bitz Barn online. they sell stuff like that. I might do similar but i don't like having the wrong bodies. if you wait till a while after they are released they may start to sell GK bitz though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225260-compatibility-of-grey-knight-sm-termie-kits/#findComment-2699556 Share on other sites

Yeah I kinda figured, but the way it looks you should be right on track to make a few different squads of termies from one box of GKT because of all the weapons... Aki27
If you're very careful and confident with your converting skills, you can cut and file down the face masks of the AOBR termies heads to mimic the Grey Knights. I'm not sure whether it was here or another forum, but there was a really good tutorial on converting plastic termies into GK termies. Brother Karr
I'm waiting for the bits sellers out there to start chopping up the Terminator kits and getting the torsos and Normal terminator legs to build the troop based terminators and save the Ornate armor for paladins and a squad of Morduks (sp) Ghost knights. 1Drop
I'm planing on buying the gk termie box to use for conversions but I'm planing on using most of the parts so yes the parts are interchangable.
