Grimfoe
I think this is a pretty interesting idea. In my opinion, I would limit the trophies to animals that could kill you if you fail to take them down quickly. I like the idea of using drakes, serpents or bear as trophies. I wouldn't be too quick to have a trophy from a stag, however. This would mix in well with other trophies from off world, too. You could have a model with a trophy from a drake, for example that also has a tyranid skull. As if he never stops taking trophies, even after taking his battles away from fenris. In the real world, you could add trophies every so often to reflect battles you've won that are particularly significant to you. Sounds like fun. Valerian
"Kraken and seadragon lurk in the depths surfacing to prey on the unwary. Razor-jawed ripperfish, capable of stripping a man to the bone in seconds, dwell near the surface. From warm caves in the islands mighty dragons emerge to soar on the thermals. In the cold lands of the uttermost North, packs of iron-furred wolves hunt the teeming herds of elk and caribou. This deadly world breeds deadly men. Here only the strong survive and the weak perish quickly." "The elk of Fenris are huge beasts, standing nearly twelve soot at the shoulder, with razor sharp antlers ten foot across. They can easily trample a hunter to death and one sweep of their horns can disembowel a man. There are huge white bears, savage engines of death twenty foot tail, weighing many tons. Psychic super-intelligent foxes, large as dogs, lure prey into deadfalls with illusions and mental commands." "Most feared of all are the packs of Fenrisian Wolves, one of the most vicious predators in the known universe. The smallest of these great grey wolves are the size of ponies, and the oldest can attain the size of a Rhino armoured personnel carrier. They are amazingly intelligent and always voraciously hungry. Their pack tactics make them the most efficient hunters on the surface of the world. Working together they isolate and run down even the largest of prey." "In the mountains the aspirants encounter dragons and blood eagles. Food becomes scarce. Many aspirants die on this pilgrimage. Those that do not will eventually find themselves before one of the Fang's many gates. Here, at the heart of the northern continent, where the mountains meet over the pole, they will see the Fang in all its glory for the first time." Just a few samples of the fauna, all from White Dwarf 156. Marshal Wilhelm
Like this?Link: See post #17 Looks like that person used this tutorial. No I didn't :P The use of plasticard just adds more work. Less is more in this case. Just chopping tools and a flat and a round file. With combi-weapons, I make mine with just a bolter, plasma pistol [or hand flamer or infernus pistol] and the storm bolter ammo drum. No GS or plasticard. It is simpler that way. And sometimes in life, the simple things are the best ;) Cause I'm a modeller, that's the way I'm made Wolfebane, that's what you see. We can't change what we are. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225267-animal-life-on-fenris/page/2/#findComment-2698271 Share on other sites
Hiro_Protagonist
To be honest, I have trouble searching for stuff on here, maybe im not doing it right, but i always get either no results or a million. An no wolves on Fenris, that comment just makes no sense. In lots of the fluff it mentions that the creatures refered to as "wolves" are actually some other species (no even remotely related) that has been modified into the form of a wolf. That's what is meant by "There are no wolves on Fenris" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225267-animal-life-on-fenris/page/2/#findComment-2700546 Share on other sites

We call them red pandas... they're not pandas. Not even the same genus. We call them guinea pigs. They're not pigs. They call them Fenrisian wolves.... who says that makes them wolves? There may just simply be no better category to label them as. And it's quite a lot easier for everyone than to call them Fenrisian samoplacatory narfles (or whichever made-up word you prefer). Again, I'm not taking sides, but this supposition makes sense. Marshal Wilhelm
what! a pup made wilhelm take a hit? take 2 steins of ale on me my pup! you deserve it! ;) :D You misunderstand *laughs pompously* :P The hit was not on me ~ it was on the proWolf faction. Being from the antiWolf faction, I appreciated Wulfebane's upending of the "It's called a wolf, so it must be a wolf" argument. :P Now I haven't read PB, so I cannot say my antiWolf stance holds any water anymore. I just don't know.... But I will admit when Wulfebane said the pandas and pigs comment drew a blank for a while. I was thinking about them and wondering what on earth did he mean. Which made me think he was going all Zen on us. I mused on it for a bit after I commented, and though I knew red pandas were not actual pandas, it was the guinea pigs bit that finally got my cogitator unit working. But I thought my comment was funny so I left it. Well that is my story anyway :P *swirls martini and looks imperiously at Hendrik, whilst deftly dodging a Blood claw's efforts at landing one on the Black Templar Arena of Death Champion* ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225267-animal-life-on-fenris/page/2/#findComment-2702795 Share on other sites

Growler67
where did you get the wolf heads for your pack? Looks like the pack from the old "Wofly Bits" sprue. Pre-painted along with the gem, though I would strip/prime and start from scratch with the new paint scheme.
