henrywalker
I'm buying 3 grey knight dreadknights and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what i could do with the unused weapons. i'm not certain about how i'm going to it them out but i'm sure i'll have at least 1 sword and 1 hammer left. what can i do with these? big ol' objective markers? or do you reckon i could just make a regular marine look like a beast. the sword might fit in the venerable dreadnaught's humanized hand any ideas? ToI
I just built the demo knight for our store and one thing I'm looking forward to is potentially using that sword on a Terminator captain. Out of proportion yes, but when I envision a relic blade I kinda get the Final Fantasy syndrome, just going to need a little bit of work to make it look good but who doesn't want Cloud as their HQ lol. As for the rest of the bits, I got no clue how I'm going to use them all. And a hell of a lot easier to assemble than a thunderfire cannon model Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225286-dreadknight-bitz/#findComment-2696355 Share on other sites
RandomGuy
I want to stick both the sword and the hammer on a dreadnought as alternative DCCW. If you have a codex army, that hammer would look cool on an ironclad. Good point about being able to make a thunderfire cannon as well. If you had 2, you could use the incinerators as the sponson guns on the redeemer. Not sure without seeing the sprues in person I can't really comment much. Random Guy Having seen the sprues, turning those heavy incinerators into Flamestorms would be SOOOOOO easy. and they look way cooler than the standard guns for the redeemer. On a side note, I have to say the hammer for the dreadknight is the ugliest bit on the whole sprue... It looks short and stubby and out of proportion with the rest of the model. Not sure what I'll ever use it for Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225286-dreadknight-bitz/#findComment-2696408 Share on other sites

The sword works, but the hammer looks like a toy imho. While I agree, I do think its a very easy fix. Canibalise the mid section of a second hammer (or find something else suitable) and make it look like a full length thunderhammer just bigger. Failing that the hammer appears the least viable choice of weapon anyway (unless you need the initiative debuff the +1a from fists will always be better, and cheaper). RandomGuy
Actually you guys have a point. I'd never really looked very much at the hammer in detail. I just went wow a hammer and moved on. I recon with a bit of plasticard tubing you might be able to salvage something out of it. If you could get the length right you could have a DK leaning on it. That depends how posible the kit turns out to be. Random Guy As far as ease of posing the model goes, on a 1-10 scale it's about a 6.75-7, The arms have a lot of mobility because the shoulders are ball and half-socket joints, but the legs are pretty static. Some people have mentioned you can cut the knee joint and repose pretty easily, but then you have to repose the hip joint which is harder, but the ankles are fully mobile and you don't even have to glue them.
