Well met brothers. I had the priviledge of facing off against chaos over the weekend and sent the traitorous dogs running back to the eye of terror with a rousing objectives game.

5 objective game the game ends with my opponent controlling zero objectives, contesting zero objectives and my valiant GH packs controlling three.

I fielded 2 GH squads each 10x with PW and MOTW in rhino. 1 of the squads had dual meltas while the other had dual plasma. one 6 man GH squad with PF in rhino (left the other 4 GH on my painting table) 1 LF squad, 1 lone wolf in termie armor SS and Frost axe with MM dread and one Skyclaw pack PW/ MOTW with jump chaplain. Finally i fielded my RP in the 6 GH squad.

My skyclaw pack ended up completely wiping out two of his troop selections while the last of his troops were bogged down by my lone wolf and LF pack. leaving my three scoring units completely unmolested as they made a mad dash at the end of the game to cap objectives. Hilariously though his warpack leader warped in within 24 inches of my RP failed his dangerous terrain test then failed his perils of the warp test the next turn killing him. The Allfather was with me on this day it seems.

in celebration. *Mac along with the rest of his packmates roll kegs of ale into the hall along with roast elk* and say "Drinks all around! FOR RUSS AND THE ALLFATHER!"

I won the roll and decided to go first. I was able to deploy my LF pack in a tall building that provided LOS to almost everything on the table. The 1st turn was spent moving forces forward as I kept my skyclaws in reserve. His first turn he moved took a few pot shots at my rhinos but no real damage while moving his raptor squad up the left side of the board and two of his troop squads up the right side of the board.

Second turn i rolled for reserve and got my Skyclaws to deploy behind cover within charge range for turn three. my rhinos moved forward up the middle staying out of LoS of his havoks and my Lonewolf and dread moved to engage his raptors. My LF caused a few wounds on his raptors (4 krak missile hits). His turn he moved his raptors up more along the table edge and his other troops along the opposite table edge. He made his reserve roll and deployed his obliterators to support his Raptors.

Third turn my Lonewolf and dreadnought get close enough to assault his raptors while my skyclaws assault one of his troop squads. My RP begins casts the ability that caused difficult and dangerous terrain checks. My Skyclaws wipe out his entire squad save one man and my dread and LW bog down his raptorsquad. On his turn he rolls reserve and brings in his warpack leader (don't know the actual name) with a squad of termies. pack leader and 2 termies fail the terrain test. His second troop squad assaults my skyclaw pack and he fails literally EVERY wound save in combat. wiping out his entire squad while i only sustained 3 casualties. My LW ends up racking up 2 more kill tallies before it dies and the dreadnought causes 2 more wounds to the raptor squad. His obliterator squad did end up wrecking one of my rhinos.

Turn four my RP squad moves towards and objective, the GH squad still in a rhino moves towards another obj and my GH squad on foot ends up hunkering down in cover within range of the third objective. My LF squad pops one obliterator from his squad. in the CC phase my Skyclaws end up mopping up the rest of his tactical guys and the dread takes out another raptor. On his turn he attacks my RP rhino and deals no damage, his obliterator squad is able to kill a GH from the pack on foot and his HQ fails his perils of the warp check taking another unsavable wound dying.

Turn five turned into mop up duty as my LF pack turns their full attention to his obliterators and ends up killing another one. My skyclaws are able to move within assault range of his Havoks and the dreadnought is able to continue tarpitting his raptors. At the start of his final turn he has 1 remaining obliterator 3 raptors and a full squad of havoks on the board. While i'm controlling three objectives.

(Didn't have time to put up a blow by blow earlier so its up now)

Nice work, brother! Seems like your Skyclaws deserve a hefty dose of ale when they get back, sounds like they just wrecked his battleline. And he got some pretty horrid luck on his reserves, but thats what you get when you go over to Chaos!

Keep up the good work, and keep up the battle reports
