It's a pretty decent start, might I suggest highlights? Just one or two layers can really help a mini's paintjob. The cloak in particular needs a little depth imho. If you want, washes or inks really help add depth. Combined with some highlights you can make a mini look good relatively easily. Does this help? :P

They look good so far! Like Olisredan said, some highlights and washes might help.

The only other thing i would say is that you need to mix up your colour placement a bit. Instead of having all the lower legs painted black and the rest red, try doing the odd one with different armour panels painted in black. I don't which white dwarf it was but there is one with a pretty good article about them in which shows what i mean better than me trying to describe it! :P

They look good though! ^_^

Fair enough. On this particular sub-board it's always a good idea to whack up pictures otherwise people haven't got much to say - it's hard to offer advice when there are no visual cues. :P

From the pics posted, it looks like you need to water your paints down. I just got a friend to start watering his paints down and it instantly improved his painting. It hides brush strokes, retains more details. It takes a few coats sometimes, but it does help. If you are already watering down, I suggest a little more water?

The first coat after the base coat should be watered down, presuming you spray on the base coat. Every coat after that should also be watered down. :)

For your raptor bases, I'd personally go with a clod of earth, with some grass.

You red corsairs are nice, but with some wash and hightlights they'd be much better ! Also, they seem to have the same pattern colors, try to mix it, I think they'll really dig!

Keep it up !
