Officio Assassinorum operatives

As the thread title suggests, can someone who has read the GK codex give me a brief overview on what they have done with Assassins?

Mainly wondering if they dont totally suck anymore, but also if they have expanded the fluff at all..

I'm particularly interested in the Eversor, as he is by far my favourite unit of all time!

Thanks

Vindicare : Made of win and God.

-Able to remove models wargear-granted Invulnerable save for the remainder of the game

-Possible AP39 shot against vehicles

-Infinite special ammunition

-No longer able to shoot into combats

Callidus

-Still able to deploy anywhere on the table due to Polymorphine rules

-Able to do a considerable shot to a unit upon entering play

-No more 'A word in your ear' shenanighans

-Phase Blade no longer ignores invulnerable saves

Calexus

-Anti-Psyker gib-cannon still just as powerful as before

-No more L7 aura

Eversor

-No more exploding B)

Overall, I'm a huge fan of the Vindicare, followed closely by the Callidus, sheerly for the fun of bringing her onto the table near the end of the game to try to pop off her wound-a-unit rule on an enemy trenched over an objective.

He's more or less the same as before, save that none of them but the Vindicare (I believe, I can't remember), so no sneaking them up on someone. He's still a combat retard, but I dislike anything that has base attacks of just a singular D6...I've had that come up a 1 far too many times.
No, it's on the turn he charges he gets +D6 attacks instead of just the regular 1. He's still 4 base, so on the charge he gets 5-10 lightning claw attacks or 4 when he doesn't charge, and has a bolt pistol that's AP 2 and hellfire rounds.

:D but, hes my favourite!

Thanks for the info brothers, if I rebooted my Grey Knights i'm sure I would take him anyway.

Nothing is cooler than a biomechanical nightmare ninja wielding a butcher sword, bolter uzi and an eyeball on a stick!

IF you're doing a scout/shunt list, throw an eversor in there as well, give him scout, and outflank him if you get an extra unit for Grand Strategy. psychic communion+outflanking eversor sounds like a nasty combo. If not for effectiveness, then for forcing your opponent to prepare for it. I don't care what it is, 7 lighning claw attacks on the charge at s5 WS8 I8 (unless he lost furious charge), with an almost guaranteed previous wound from shooting his bs8 2+wound ap2 pistol, doesn't sound like fun. Even running him regularly, he'd be great being thrown into a multi-combat situation. (meaning supporting a unit that's just tied up a unit or two (or a big mob))

EDIT: And, for my non-cheesy henchmen army (if i ever get around to it), I'd have both an eversor and a vindicare.

The Eversor was totally nuetered.

No more 12" Charge.

No more Infiltrate.

Hell, you'd probably be better taking Crowe over the Eversor, and that's saying something...

The lack of infiltrate or deployment options reall hurt the Eversor. That is the one standout thing when I was looking at them.... How the heck am I going to get it across the board without being shot to pieces.

I guess that only leaves counter assault in your home deployment zone for his role.

The Eversor was by far my favourite Assassin since 3rd ed due to his cheap price, and ability to kill Wraithlords with the Neurogauntlet (back in 3rd ed, Eldar was kinda scary against marines).

Now however, they sort of nerfed him, and hiked his price. Pity, my model will probably never see play till the NEXT GK codex :P
