The Glorious 9th

[AGPO]

Hi there,

 

I recently got back into the hobby with 8th edition Warhammer, and with my old Realm/Hordes of Chaos army finally getting vaguely up to date, I figured I'd give some 40k a shot. Back around the Eye of Terror campaign I made an abortive attempt to get into all things 40k and started the makings of an Imperial Fists army. When I got all my hobby stuff out agin, I found them in various states of half-paintedness and decided to finish them off. Here's some WIP shots of where they are at the moment. Brother-Captain Coran, Captain of the 9th. I'm going to rework the blue on this guy's cloak and replace the blue on the braid and tabard with something more suitable:

Command Squad. These guys are more a display unit than anything else. They're far to pimped out to be of much practical battlefield use in small games:

Standard Bearer. I'm really pleased with this guy considering I painted him nearly eight years ago:

Company Champion. I found some cool fluff on how Sigismund repainted his armour black like the Chaplains as a mark of his direct service to the Emperor as his Champion. I figured Imperial Fists Company Champions may still do this in his honour:

Apocathary. I went with an old fashioned chain fed bolt pistol and brass instruments to contrast the clean white and yellow:

I'll upload some pics of my devs and scouts later. Without a doubt the most time consuming job on these guys has been free-handing all the chapter symbols. I don't like the shiny look of transfers.
