So i went to a independant store that sells gw products for cheap like min 20% off

and they had the new april white dwarf with the grey knights

looks pretty good, just skimmed through it

ton of pages about the new models, codex

battle was grey knights vs ...daemons (didnt see that coming), i didnt read the entire report but it sort of annilation on model count, like last man standing

the modelling section was based just on the terminator and strike squad kits, nothing on the dreadknight

if you guys have any questions let me know, like pictures etc

Yeah they did a mission from the Battle Missions book. Apparently the Daemons list is just crap and it's them bending over to make the GKs look awesome. Really unsubtle from what I heard.

They tend to do this with all the battle reports. The only recent one that I remember not doing this was the one with the new Orcs and Goblins. The Orcs lost by a fair mount, while the new models did average or nothing. It was actually quite enjoyable, even though I don't play, just paint, Fantasy.

Going to give you a little advice to not openly advertise the availability of specifics, and your willingness to post them here.

Not trying to be harsh, but several people have drawn the anger of the almighty =][= in the last few days, and one in particular said that things like this would end poorly for the next person seen offending.

Just trying to save you some skin.

sure not a problem, thanks for the warning, ill keep my head up

as to the modeling section

they did more of a painting step by step, instead of building. They showed some poses on how to make them look cooler

i personally bought it mainly for modeling section

i dont want to spoil anything, but its up too you if you want to buy the magazine :P

Not a problem. :P Just trying to save people from inadvertantly getting their faces nuked off.

As for the magazine...if it's out, I might have to take a little bike ride up to the LGS to snag a copy. I always find it interesting on how different people paint things, and in what steps. I know earlier on someone had a step-by-step on how to paint lavabases (in the GK basing thread laying around someplace), talking about going from dark to light, where another I saw when the other way around from light to dark.

Semantics.

Should be a good read, nonetheless.

I'm looking forward to picking up this issue as well. I don't buy many of them anymore unless they look enticing. I'm sure the battle report will be extremely one-sided but maybe it'll have some insights into the army, or at least be engaging. I've generally been impressed with what White Dwarf has to offer, I just don't have the time & cash to get it every month.

Thanks for the head's up for content (and for not posting TOO much)

I bought my copy at one of the local GWs yesterday. The spreads of exact pictures of the sprues are useful (as it gives a good idea of what is contained exactly in each box, which bits are intended for termies vs paladins, etc), and I always find painting guides and examples useful as it gives me another reference of an "official" example in terms of paint jobs or ideas. The battle report was a good read and answered a couple of questions as to how things would pan out. Korne is gonna stink for us to combat in hand to hand, but what can ya do? Shoot them :)

I do have to say it's a pretty good buy if just from the slew of examples and photos of models they have in there.
