Heimdall Skullcrusher
Now that the Grey Knights Codex is out (well almost), it seems that it replaces the Demonhunters codex. Does this mean that that codex will no longer be used (atleast in 'official' games)? I would think so. Also, I have only scanned through it, but it doesn't seem to allow allies like Demonhunters did, so does that mean that we wont be seeing all those Imperial Guard lists with Inquistors and Mystics? It also seems the that some of the units/individuals in the Witchhunter codex have made an appearance in the Grey Knights Codex. Does this mean the Witchhunters codex is no longer used? Not that it is used much anyways now days. Anyways, just some thoughts, wasn't sure if there was an "official" line on what this codex does to the 2 other codexes. I know its not officially out and I dont think I am discussing any specifics, so I just wanted to get others opinions. ValourousHeart
Sisters are not phased out. Just because SW and BA got a codex doesn't mean that DA and BT are no longer valid codices. They just aren't as new. But yes the rumor is that Sisters will be home for Christmas. I just hope that we get something better than the GK version of the Arco-flagellent. Here is hoping that the church knows how to punish people properly. Otherwise it looks like my Arcos will be Deathcult. SamaNagol
Witchunters Codex is still valid. Daemonhunters Codex will no longer be valid on April 2nd when Codex Grey Knights is released. Master Of Malfeasance X
How do you figure? Codex: Grey Knights is not Codex: Daemonhunters. Just like Codex: Chaos Daemons didn't replace Codex: Chaos Space Marines. Until I see it in writing, I wouldn't be too sure that GK has transparently replaced anything. It looks like an all-new breakaway codex to me. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225688-grey-knights-codex/#findComment-2701779 Share on other sites

Codex: Space Marines invalidated Codex: Ultramarines. Etc. Ashe Darke
There is no Daemon Hunters section on the website which looks pretty clear enough to me. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225688-grey-knights-codex/#findComment-2701920 Share on other sites

That is the biggest amount of wishful thinking I have ever seen. Considering the majority of Codex: Daemonhunters is present in Codex: Grey Knights (if you haven't been by a store to read it, then do so), it is very simple. Codex: Grey Knights replaces Codex: Daemonhunters, simple as that. Them taking the ENTIRE Daemonhunters section off their website is just icing on that cake. Never-the-less, you will see it in writing when they remove the Daemonhunters FAQ from their site as well. Inquisitor Fox
Codex: Grey Knights clearly replaces Codex: Daemon Hunters. Arguing that the name isn't the same is the same foolishness that would say Codex: Tau Empire didn't replace Codex: Tau. On another note, I have heard that the Sisters of Battle were mentioned on a sales brief as being released in 2011... so I may just be really really poor this year and next... :) Rather I should say I was told, so it's not just an internet rumor *grins* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225688-grey-knights-codex/#findComment-2702097 Share on other sites
