Anyway, it's been a long time in the works, most of that being me not sure what to do next, a bionic right arm specifically. My only criticism would be the size of the wings. My personal love of the old metal DP was that it was much more open to playing with than the new plastic, and having been recently working on both, I know how easy it can be to run away with it and go wild on wingspan for the metal. I opted for the dark pegasus wings in the end, but I understand that these can look slightly less dramatic to some. I've got round the size of them not being huge by making them "pop" more with the paint job. However, all that said, it looks great and I do love how you have put the bionic through the daemonic, I just wonder if that will work in the end when they are painted without making them overpower the model as a whole and you miss all the great detail you have put in around that. the damned artificer Posted March 26, 2011 Share Posted March 26, 2011 It is very cool imo, and the bionics are awesome, I'd do a big bionic arm with some sort of gun incorporated (Yeah I know the DP can't have guns, but it just look cool ;) ) or maybe an arm with some sort of axe like weapon like the one of a tech marine to resemble him once being a warsmith. Chaplain Invictus Posted March 26, 2011 Author Share Posted March 26, 2011 Well the bionic wing eventually will have something on the front knuckle there, it's way too plain. Yet to have the eureka! moment yet though. At one point it had the dragon wing tip on it, but it just looked wrong so it was removed. yet to find the perfect piece. While I completely agree the wings are enormous, I like the look overall of the larger wings. However it's a beast to actually play with (as it's you know, enormous), and is rather difficult to get close to any kind of terrain feature over 3" tall. Painting-wise, honestly, if it ever gets painted it'll be a miracle for me, but I'm sure the giant wings will pull attention away for many. The Bionic wing, the flaps (for lack of knowing the proper term) will be painted in flesh tones and shapes, making it appear to have been done in skin. At leats, that's the eventual goal. I like that axe weapon arm idea, make him look techmarine-y. Unfortunatly means I'd have to make a new axe head, as I have not seen one that fits it just right. If you have a recommendation on the bit, I'd be thrilled to hear your thoughts on the matter. Thanks for the replies all!
