Wagner
http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h398/animofi/TanelCOS.jpg A Chooser of the Slain model built for a friend. Base was made with cork. The pillar is from the 6th edition WFB starter set building. The shield is a beastmen ungor shield. The dagger is from the Space Wolf pack. And the raven is from the warmachine Khador old Witch and Scrapjack box(it was supplied with an extra raven). Comments and critique are welcome. Cheers, Sven. Goreclaw
I like the pilar and the other bits a lot, but i feel like the chooser looks too static and like a decoration more than a mechanical bird. Still good work. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225794-chooser-of-the-slain/#findComment-2702774 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
I agree- maybe angle the wings back? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225794-chooser-of-the-slain/#findComment-2702791 Share on other sites
Beef
Great model, i like the cork base, I never thought of using cork but it looks good, as for the chooser model itself, it looks to small. Fellblades
I agree with the others, I think the raven feels too static and is too small, but the rest of the setup is really spot on. MaveriK
reminds me of my own two chooser models, but I agree with everyone else.. the bird looks like a statue and it's far too little. Nicely done altogether! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225794-chooser-of-the-slain/#findComment-2703301 Share on other sites
RipherChost
For me it would be a task to paint something so tiny with enough detail. However! I like how small and insignifigant it looks, almost like it wants to blend in with its surroundings as to not be detected. I think it's pretty cool. I am motivated to make a mini Chooser myself now. Regardless of it's size (model), the rule is that it cannot be targeted by your opponent. RipherChost
Exactly Growler67. Thats why I like it's smallness it feels fluffy and matching to the rules. Although I agree with the critique of it being static after another veiwing. @ Wagner. Are we going to see this painted or is that up to your buddy? Wagner
Thanks a bunch. I'll provide you with a picture from a different angle in the morning. Maybe the wings should be angled differently, I'll try it and take some pictures. @RipherChost: Yep, it seems that I'm to paint the model. So as soon as I get it done, I'll post some pictures. Cheers, Sven. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225794-chooser-of-the-slain/#findComment-2704533 Share on other sites
Wagner
Hi. Pictures came in a bit late, but here they are. http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h398/animofi/COSta.jpg As you see, I added a bit of sand onto the base. Also gave a try bending the raven without breaking it and at the same time still giving it a more dynamic look. And after seeing that Chooser of the Slain, my brother asked me to build one for him too. Here it is. http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h398/animofi/COSma.jpg The resin head is from Scibor Miniatures basing kit i or ii, not sure anymore. The raven is again one leftover from the warmachine model. As this is in theme with his army, I think it's a success. Please feel free to comment and suggest anything, before I start to paint them. Especially the first model. Cheers, Sven. Grey Mage
I really, really like the second one. Id probly use it as an objective marker, but still, it should turn out beautiful <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225794-chooser-of-the-slain/#findComment-2707694 Share on other sites
