dswanick
Wow, I just re-read the Morale checks. For some reason I thought it was only shooting. It does specify any "phase" (except close combat). That definitely changes some things.. Just an additional note : the check is ignored only for models lost due to close combat attacks. Losing an assault results in a fall back move (usually), but that move can trigger dangerous terrain tests and possibly additional loses not caused by close combat attacks but in the Assault phase which by RAW should then trigger an additional Morale test. So what happens if that Morale test is failed? On careful reading it seems like the unit which just fell back would then have to immediately fall back another 2d6". djhg
a model or unit that is already fleeing as a result of a failed morale check automatically fails further morale checks (except for regrouping) By law of the BRB they do indeed fall back another 2d6 immediately. Thanks for bringing that up, I did not know that! Could be useful in future when you need to escort a particularly annoying unit from the table quickly...
