A few quick questions someone may be able to answer

Hi folks,

Reading through the codex I've got a few questions that I need answering for a game later this week. I'm reading through FAQ lists on a few forums trying to see if there are conclusive answers out there, but as there are quite a few to get through I thought I'd ask in a new thread. Sorry if they've been asked and answered already. So,

Hammerhand - applies to all models in the unit including ICs - does this work in reverse also (so, if an IC casts it then both he and the unit have it)? More importantly, the might of titan power specifically states that it stacks with hammerhand, but does hammerhand stack cumulatively? Example, GK terminators cast hammerhand and attached librarian casts hammerhand and MoT - is everyone therefore S7?

Nemesis doomfists -

"follows the rules for dreadnought close combat weapons"

"all nemesis weapons are force weapons"

"A DCCW is a power weapon and doubles the WALKERS strength up to a maximum of 10"

"if the WALKER is armed with two or more DCCWs, it gains a bonus attack for each weapon over the first"

With the above quotes considered, I gather the only reason for stating the doomfist as a seperate weapon (rather than simply a DCCW) was to ensure that the nemesis rule was applied for both the DN and DK. However, does a dreadknight strike at S10 (like a dreadnought) and gain the extra attack for two, OR (my opinion) is the DK S6 with no bonus attack as it's profile already includes 4 attacks and it is NOT a walker, hence the only ways to increase strength are to use hammerhand for the doomfist/greatsword (S7), or to upgrade to the daemonhammer for S10.

I did have a couple of other questions but for now I'll just put these ones out there. Feel free to add more.

Yes.

Will probably need a FAQ, but I really doubt it, as things that are cumulative or stack explicitly say so.

It's a RAW vs RAI issue. From the website and White Dwarf articles it seems intended that they strike at S10. You should be able to claim the bonus attack without a problem at least, as they're still 2 close combat weapons.

I very much doubt this was their intention, but I can't find any wording that indicates it isn't technically allowed. Until someone shows me where it says I can't do it, or GW releases a FAQ to that effect, I'm going to play it being able to stack.

I agree with your interpretation, but am also 99% certain that it will be FAQ'd to prevent stacking. I wouldn't recommend playing it that way as a result. It's bound to result in arguments. There are numerous instances of rules that appear stackable in the 5th edition codexes yet unless there is specific language explicitly allowing stacking, GW has always FAQ'd the stacking to be illegal in the end.

So if you can get away with playing it that way (because I agree that would be RAW), more power to you! But that little trick will be going away, I guarantee it. Don't count on being able to do so for too long.

here's a quick question. does anyone know if a librarian can take a psycannon? I've got a terminator librarian that i converted up a long time ago to be a GM with psycannon. Just trying to figure out if he'll have to change.

A ha, here's one I can answer. Sadly it's a no - he can take the usual selection of nemesis weapons and a couple of other wargear pieces (brain mines, digi-weapons etc) but only the BC/GM have access to psycannons/incinerators.

Thanks to everyone for the responses above - I'm going to go with the stacking until it's FAQ'd (got to convert a libby first tho) and as for the doomfist, I guess the jury's still out. I think I'll go with 2 S6 nemesis force weapons being the ruling, so the extra attack but no S10. At least until someone convinces me otherwise or GW corrects their oversights.

I have a new question if i may.

Do people feel that the Libby's ability to take a Teleport Homer is so those summoned to him don't scatter? I can see reasons against being people could argue they arent exactly teleporting and for being that he is the only character able to have one. If it wasnt so it can be used in concert with summoning why is he the only character able to have it???

I think it is the intent. BUT... they may not scatter anyway! It says "place your models." According to RAW this means they are put on the table not MOVED!!

LOL i want this to be true but it does say placed using the Deep Strike Rules, so my interpretation was you place then scatter as normal. Unless you have the Teleport Homer i think
