Bran Redmaw logo changed!

Shock horror!!!

Bran Redmaw's Great Company marking used to be a white wolf head on a black background. Red maw of corse but no blood drops!

Also had a Wolf Priest picture who looks just like Ulrik but with Bran's GC markings! Could it really be that GW changed things again and don't look back at their own work?

:D

Red maw of course but no blood drops? ....Shock horror!!! there have ALWAYS been blood drops: pg. 12 Space Wolves 2nd Edition Codex. pg. 33 Space Wolves 3rd Edition Codex. pg. 15 and pg. 16 Space Wolves 5th Edition Codex shows the icon with blood drops.

Are you talking about your avatar? and also if your referring to this picture, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-4000...sfer-Sheet.html with a black wolf head on Bran Redmaw's Great Company marking.. I'm thinking it was only done so that the icon can stand out better on whatever model/vehicle your going to transfer the icon onto. You have to remember, different artist have their own interpretations; it's kinda like how Ragnar's hair was originally blonde, but then someone painted him with black hair, ever since then, and in both 3rd Edition along with the recent codex, they have shown Ragnar with black hair, also not to mention the Ragnar series books have him with black hair. Different artist also give Leman Russ with either brown hair or red hair, while the cover art for Prospero Burns have him blonde. And to be fair.. those above page references, have Redmaw's icon along with other icons with two basic colors of either black and white, or just the one color of stone, with a darker stone color to help separate certain aspects of the logo.

as for the Wolf Priest picture who looks just like Ulrik but with Bran's GC markings? where did you see that? I don't have my codex with me.. I'd like to take a look at it myself, out of curiosity.

If I had my old codex Id have a look at those.

All of the stuff above was in the old Index Astartes II book which had reprints of articles from white dwarf. Not sure if they are still available but worth a look for sure.

If I find a link I'll post it.

gotcha! Index Astartes II, pg. 3. I see the Wolf Priest and the icon.

--EDIT--

I've always just thought it had a black background because it was referencing the Wolf Priest picture since he's all black. But even then you can see from the side, that there are blood drops on the Wolf Priest picture, it's just not shown on the separate shoulder pad picture. But just like anything that comes out of white dwarf... I wouldn't take anything from them seriously. These are the same people who make mistakes on their battle reports, who also mades mistakes on rules, such as MoTW with past articles that prove this.

Just re-looked at the Wolf Priest...and...as seems to be usual on this forum.......you are right :)

Would be nice for once if GW actually referenced each others work. Not like they work in the same building or anything.

May have to use the white wolf head when I do a Wolf Priest. Make him stand out a bit more.

And yes, with blood drops :)

Noticed that in peoples welcomes. Not experienced that on the other sub forums on here so all's good.

One of the big parts of the hobby has always been talking to others. Even those who can be so stubborn with their views .

I can tell you lot are passionate about the Space Wolves by the comments, stories and general posts. Something I've only ever experienced with Ork players (and with similar amount of brawling too).
