Moderninsing my RT blood angels a bit inline with the new codex, fresh paint jobs etc

i have came across a few problems getting the older models to fit into a new army list, mk1 crusader land raider was a bit tricky.

the newest models i want to have are the characters other than that everything is 2nd ed or older

I have a couple questions to put to you..

1. Do i put assault marines in yellow helmets like you would have from 2nd ed and up

2. I am looking for some models to use as sanguinary guard.. any suggestions on models or ways to represent them?

Kinda in a similar situation, except with mostly 2nd ed stuff.

I was never a fan of the yellow helmets... that's why all my assault marines are flesh tearers!

I'd try to keep it oldschool as long as possible. Having one squad of newer models will clash pretty badly with the rest of your force. For the sang guard I bought 5 winged jump packs at a bitz site, gave away the wings. They are all made up of mk6 or mk5 parts, beaky heads, studded shouldpads, 2nd ed weapons and so on. Will be painted black (as soon as the winter ends) with the appropriate markings RT style, complete with old style yellow saw blade chapter badge. If I can get one more winged pack (not as easy now) I'll make a old school medic in case I want to use them as honor guard.

EDIT: I also have an old AC LC predator all in black. Heed the wisdom of the ancients, honor the battlegear of the dead and all that...

I just restored 4 raiders recently including converting 2/4 into a Phobos, and Crusader.

The Frag Launches on the crusade can be trimmed in half length wise (to make 2 1x3 strips) and then trimmed down to fit in the 'boxes' on the front tracks of the raider makes them look pretty good too. :)
