Lore Trolling in Deathwatch: Rites of Battle

I got a look at the Deathwatch: Rites of Battle book today. It contained a lot of very cool stuff (rules for Chaplains, rules for Dreadnoughts, rules for pretty much any SM Vehicle you could want to drive, rules for being a "Kill-Marine," which is pretty much as awesome as it sounds, and a good new way to spend resources).

However, it also contained something interesting regarding our Chapter's lore:

Table for "Create-a-Chapter" Geneseed Origin:

About a 50% Chance: Ultramarines

About a 48% Chance: Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Imperial Fists, etc

1% Chance: Space Wolves

1% Chance: Salamanders

Admittedly, I suppose that making it *extraordinarily unlikely* is probably their way of saying "it's fluff heresy, but we know you're going to do it anyway." Still, you can now random generate Space Wolf successor chapters. Once every hundred times or so. I lol'd.

At least they didn't include Traitor Legion Geneseed, I guess? (In before "Black Shield Marines = Traitor Legions").

But what has all this to do with Wolves?

I'm guessing the humor derived from the premise of "Table for "Create-a-Chapter" Geneseed Origin" as it appears the allowance for second or successor foundings is being incorporated into the RPG, juxtaposed against the known and accepted fluff that the only such decendants from the Space Wolves no longer exists and no additional attempts were ever made.

Just a WAG.
