Annatar Giftbringer
Greetings, I have considered getting a dual Autocannon set for my Dreadnought, got me some Dark Eldar to kill.... :) So, my guestion is: What is the best/cheapest/easiest way to get/build them? Options? I know they're available from Forge World, but are there any fun/cheap/creative alternatives? And a follow-up question, assuming Forge World is the way to go, the regular plastic Dread is a Mk V, right? and anything made for the regular mk V chassis fit Ironclads too? (It's possible my Ironclad gets to wear the cannons first, until I get around to buy me another dread - and no, I won't try ty play it as a dual AC Ironclad, I'll just want its body) And to finish off, the new Venerable Dread, it has the same size weapon points as the regular one, yes? Meaning I could buy either Dread, and use any weapons on either body? Thanks in advance! jerryrich
from what i understand all the arm sockets are teh same except for the dread that come in the starter box. (i turned an ironclad and the new BE furioso into Nurgle Dreads and the arm sockets were the same) i believe all the forge world stuff fits on the dreads even though ive never used any. wouldnt make any sence to sell them seperate from their dreads if they didnt. Mnemonikk
Yup, the guns from the Aegis defence line work perfectly - I've made a couple of riflemen out of black reach dreads this way. Gonna be posting a WIP of my army in the next few days, as am finally about to start painting after finishing all my conversions. I did it the lazy way, just sawing the pegs off the guns & the dread's shoulders & gluing them on, but I must say I kind of regret it, having seen the results of putting in a little more effort :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225939-dual-autocannon-dreadnought/#findComment-2705633 Share on other sites
Hellios
forge world dreads are also not that expensive :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225939-dual-autocannon-dreadnought/#findComment-2705642 Share on other sites
Redfinger
You could always just make your own, I bought enough plasticard tubes to make arms for all 5 of my dreads...cost me about $15.00 Ashton Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225939-dual-autocannon-dreadnought/#findComment-2705995 Share on other sites
Rurouni Benshin
Redfinger, your conversion looks great! I just have a question though, how did you get the plastic tubing to come out the way you have it on your Dreadnought? Did you add anything to the ends for the barrel effect? I'm trying to find ideas for making a Rifleman Dreadnought myself and am brainstorming for ideas. Thanks!
