Warding Staff

Anyone using it for more then just a character you want to keep alive? Pondered using one for my purifier squads to eat the power fist/claw wounds to keep from loosing as many. I play orks and marines alot and it seems that the fist/claw always seems to kill just one marine a turn. Used to this would slowly chew me up taking my (old) normal size squad of 8 down in about 3 turns and taking most of the squad with it. Now we have stuff to stop this and really hurts both most normal PA marines as well as ork boy squads ability to generate wounds.

But its SO DARN EXPENSIVE! Just WOW! Anyone using it?

Staffs are a bit of a godsend, that almost imepenetrable invul is awesome! if i could id take them over swords ALWAYS

the maasive point cost means one in every paladin squad a least, normal terminators seem to be better off with more bodies than fancy equipment.....

I'm using GK Termies with more bodies, and leaving a majority with swords. It's still a 50% chance you'll shrug off a power weapon attack. My 5-man squads are: Justicar with Halberd, GKT with halberd, and 3GKT with swords.

I haven't played more than a 1000pt game with the new codex, but I have 40GKSS, 25GKTs and 3DKs on their way, so I'll certainly not be lacking for models
