MaveriK
I highly recommend this stuff.. if you haven't already heard. I'm just waiting on my order to come in! :( blog post about it. http://anatolisgameroom.blogspot.com/2011/...nter-tufts.html video review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxt2f6T79kw Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225976-highland-turf/ Share on other sites
Mr. Danvers
Good post MaveriK. It is wonderful stuff. On a little side note; for us in the UK there's a place in Wales that stocks the original tuft designs in bigger boxes that makes it a lot cheaper. Well not in a singular purpose, but you get a massive sheet for 3 of those Army Painter packs. http://www.internationalmodels.net/acatalo...flor_Tufts.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225976-highland-turf/#findComment-2705736 Share on other sites

MaveriK
I think the one's that would look good for Space Wolves are both the winter turf and the highland turf. Damn, you brits have all the fun! in more ways than one. I'm looking forward to returning to london, this spring/summer. I have cousin's that live in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It's usually the only time when I stock up on GW stuff. Anyway, I like the link! thanks. Mr. Danvers
I just had a quick check on the site for you and they do ship to you Mav. And just £3 shipping for the big Silflor sheets. So it'd be £18.50 total with shipping for a 42cm x 15cm size sheet. MaveriK
NICE! yah the stores in the states that carry Army Painter stuff is a bit pricey on shipping, even more so on eBay. I ordered one through Army Painter site, and their prices are resonable, better even. It's funny how shipping prices works sometimes. The US is just below me, yet their prices are at times ridicalous. Yet when I get stuff from the UK, it's almost like getting stuff across Canada haha go figure. But I may have to do what you recommended. THANK YOU for that! I will do that from now on. dublindawg
I saw the Army builder turf stuff for the first time a few weeks ago. I wanted to get some but I had already spent my budget on models and didn't want to give up what I had already laid out for it. I might have to make a trip up to the store again in the near future, esp if I still end up in 2nd place in the March Madness pool <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225976-highland-turf/#findComment-2707696 Share on other sites
Logain the Ranger
This stuff is great my LGS carries it and it works great with the GW snow. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225976-highland-turf/#findComment-2708742 Share on other sites
CainTheHunter
This stuff is great my LGS carries it and it works great with the GW snow. I actually don't like GW snow that much. After having compared their stuff with Gale Force Nine and Army Painter, I am strongly in favor of the latter two products. MaveriK
care to elaborate my friend? as in the differences with GW snow to the two others you've mentioned. Might be helpful for others here at the Fang :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225976-highland-turf/#findComment-2708753 Share on other sites
CainTheHunter
care to elaborate my friend? as in the differences with GW snow to the two others you've mentioned. Might be helpful for others here at the Fang ;) First thing, Army painter product gives You much more for lesser bucks. Secondly, I like their texture more (it's a bit more rough) and it's easier for me to work several layers with them. I've tried this with GW snow and I failed. Maybe that was just me, but I could not get the right coverage with GW snow. Or maybe I am just stuck with the Army Painter brand :P. I like everything with them - their spray cans are good and of many color variety, their basing tubes are bigger and cheaper than their GW counterparts + more variety, their turfs are just.... perfect ;). Haven't tried their brushes yet. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225976-highland-turf/#findComment-2708824 Share on other sites
MaveriK
haha cool, and thanks! I've only ever had/used the GW snow. I never tried the army painter stuff, but from the looks of things.. army painter seems to know their stuff, makes things easy and simple for everyone. If only I can find some retailers in Canada that sell them :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225976-highland-turf/#findComment-2709756 Share on other sites

If only I can find some retailers in Canada that sell them  If Your order exceeds 10 GBP, Maelstrom Games offer free worldwide shipping and they have the major stuff from AP and (at least for now) from GF9. With regard to GF9, they had some problems with re-stocking, so IIRC they are selling GF9 stuff "while stocks last". I suggest You looking them up.
