Lorenzen Posted March 29, 2011 Share Posted March 29, 2011 Hey all, although my current painting schedule is filled up to the nines with my fire angel army.. my sculpting of things had ground to a halt and my attention span is notoriously short so i had to fill the void. :) a friend of mine has a lamenters army and i offered to work on a version of malakim phoros for him.. and being very space marine esque (what with him being a space marine) i decided i'd share the progress with y'all http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd199/typhion/DSC00521-1.jpg still very work in progress (hence the forum choice) but hes getting there.. he's somewhat inspired by my earlier converion for Galan Machiavi but will be suitably lamentery and a bit more impressive sculpting wise as i think ive improved a bit since then. Lorenzen Posted March 30, 2011 Author Share Posted March 30, 2011 the tabard was done using madscuzzy's method. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...1&hl=tabard i try and do stuff by eye mainly so once the tabard was on mr phoros, i exagerated certain folds and cut bits off to make it look right, was all done with some clay shapers and a sharp knife, really cant explain just how usefull clay shapers are over metal tools like the gw one. as far as any dirty worn look goes thats probably me just sticking my fingers on it by accident at some point & then trying to salvage it back to being smooth, i do wonder how my hands seem to be my own worst enemy sometimes.
