nurglez Posted March 30, 2011 Share Posted March 30, 2011 Right, had 3 games vs commander sasha's skavenids, 1500 points. my army: Logan 275 Rune priest, Termie armour, chooser, MH and LL 130 Arjac, 4 termies, 2 combi melta wolf claws, combi flamer storm shield, cyclone: drop pod 425 3 termies, 2 combi plasma, 1 combi plasma wolf claw: drop pod 154 5 termies, combi melta, combi melta wolf claw, combi melta power fist, combi melta storm shield, cyclone: drop pod 280 5 termies, combi melta, combi melta power fist, wolf claw, storm shield, cyclone 235 his army: Tyrant twin linked devourer, bone sword lash whip, +1 reserve roll skill and the ws1 i1 psychic power 1 tyrant guard tervigon, poison gland and furious charge biomorphs trygon prime 8 genestealers 9 genestealers 20 gaunts with 3 str 4 shots each gun and poisoned gland in mycetic spore 6 raveners with spine fists First game: kill points, pitched battle He won the roll and made me go first, and though I have drop pods he deployed his tyrant and trygon on the board... I won this game, 6-7 kill points to 3-4, by the end of the first game turn, I had killed his tyrant due to him charging logan with it after having taken a few wounds, letting me pick on his units as they showed up piecemeal. Highlight of the game was logan and arjacs squad killing a squad of genestealers, the raveners and the trygon prime in 1 combat (I picked on the raveners and won the combat by 10 wounds due to ID). After the first game I gave him some advice, to hold everything in reserve, and thus to reduce the impact of my 2 drop pods at the start of the game. Second game: 3 objectives, spear head He reserved everything, so I landed my pods in the centre of the board, he won, 2 objectives to none, I had 2-3 termies left. low of the game are his 20 gaunts killing 4 termies in 1 round (yes i rolled loads of 1's...), and us discovering how nasty raveners are vs regular termies (they went against logan in the first game and took 2 wounds from him), the amount of rending hits at I5 i was getting hurt, and only the storm sheild helped one of my squads survive a long time, highlight was the one remaining terminator from that squad make 6 5+ saves (after I said to him "watch me make these") vs rending then kill 1 in return ;) Third game: kill points, pitched battle I won the roll, he went first, deployed nothing and i podded back away from the middle (so not to be charged by ravaners). He won, landslide. I had a brilliant tactical thought, stay back and shoot him at range, which worked until the second turn, when logan and the 3 plasma termeis show up, I completely forget my tactics and try and drop them in for an alpha strike, giving up 3 kill points when they die a turn later, real smart move. second low of the game after I realised this was arjac's squad getting wiped out and him taking a wound from those damn gaunts (60 str 4 shots at bs3 hurts when you roll a lot of 1's). I have learnt several things, not having a main target to aim for with my 2 first drop pods really messes me up, but generally I will still drop them in for the added range, I should deploy more squads and still leave 1 squad in reserve. I also had 3 great games, Commander Sasha is a great guy.
