Order of the Crimson Tear

Continued a bit with the rhino, just half the other side and the back to finish. My question to you is, where should i add white panels with text? And should i use the immolator accessories (the little decorated panels) or leave them off? I'm not sure they would fit in right for some reason. Also, the white rim on the stormbolter hatch, leave it white or change it? looks funny to me.

And one last thing, i need ideas for my Order symbol, Order of the Crimson Tear =) I want something cool, but not rediculius to paint =)

Hey guys. Sorry for lack of updates over the last week. I've been away on holidays (to greece, very nice time) and so havent done hardly any work on my gals since then, but the night before i went away i did finish the seraphim pre paint. I will be adding a bit more rubble (small chopped up things and sand) to the bases.

http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv205/Sjetaj/Sisters%20of%20Battle/SeraphimConversion.jpg

The 2 days i've been back from holidays have been raining so no chance to Prime them yet. Hopefully we'll get afew days of dry weather here in the UK soon!

The Rhino is still not fully finished. But i now know exactly what i want to do with it, so shouldnt be too long. I think the way for me to get around painting Rhino hulls is to paint them all in one go. So soon i will build my other Rhinos, 1 Immolator, and 2 Exorcists and work them all at the same time, and break up the painting with other units. Otherwise I think i'll go insane have to effectively repeat the same thing over and over.

Thoughts on the icon continue. I thank you all for your suggestions.

Happy gaming!

I wouldn't have thought of that either, tbh. That's the advantage of forum's: Small contributions and ideas by many people create and shape the ideas and efforts of others.

I would like to see a sister with a red tear tattoo now... :(

Hey guys. Things have been going pretty slow here, or I underestimated how long these models would take to paint, one or the other. I've only completed half the Serephim atm and starting the second half asap. I tried some freehand on the parchment i greenstuffed on, which came out not the best, but ok. I also noticed when resizing the photos that i have missed afew things (like purity seal parchment etc). I also need to choose a colour for the orb type bits on the backpacks. Any ideas?

Every one is converted. Back to the painting desk for me... have fun! =)

Wow, these are lovely.

For the orbs, it depends what they're supposed to be?

I don't think you could go far wrong with blue or green, it'll compliment the red as another primary colour, and both look decent with gold.

Ace work so far S'Jet!

I think that I like just the ball things black, maybe a bit more metallic?

I think that I may have to loot that grenade throwing serephim conversion, although the pose on yours looks "off" to me. More like she is falling backwards/just got shot then throwing a grenade. Would it be possible to reposition her more forward? Pivot on her left foot forward to more of a stepping down on to right foot.

Just my two cents. Keep up the good work.

Cheers guys, for the orbs I will try highlight the black, see how it looks. If it doesnt look great will try a different colour.

As for the pose on the grenade one... hmm, I wanted it to look like she was jumping backwards, ready to lob a grenade in. I'll take a second pass at it properly tomorrow. But changing the pin may be difficult now.

Thanks for feedback =)

ey guys. I know this blogs been dead a long time, had afew second thoughts with the new "dex" business, and wanted to see how it would turn out. I nearly sold all my sisters, but in the end decided to see this project through. With that said, i wanted a "pick-me-up" project. Although it isnt a SoB mini, I have been playing with alot of gold recipe's in the last 6 months and wanted to see if i could paint the NMM like the WD tutorial, plus i had the sanguinor body left over from the conversion of my Living Saint.

Some of the blends arnt perfect, and the white highlights are a little thick in places, but i can tidy those up at the end. I know its unoriginal and you've seen it all before, but any advice on hows it going would be appreciated.

the whole army looks superb so far, don't you dare to drop them or sell them, not with the models on the way!!!

i'm thinking to start on my brother's sisters, all 17 of them, but have not settled on a scheme yet, this thread just gave me ideas.

On the Sanguinor, id make the reflection on the bottom surfaces a warm shade, not straight white as you have, the shadows are always warm tones, and a reflection on a bottom surface is technically in the shade. its an art thing)))) good luck, and i do want to see him finished !!!

Got a colour scheme in mind? =) It always good when you can draw idea's from everyone else on forums etc.

Not a massive update as i've been ill, but work on the gold continues....

I've been doing a bit of NMM on my worldeaters lately and its really really hard. I was really pleased with the result until i saw this paintjob. I think you've done it very well and you should be proud. I dont normally like sisters armies but looking at yours has changed my opinion. Awesome

So yeah, long time no update! I've got a problem which some seem to have, and thats not sticking with 1 project for the time required to see it through. I've actually nearly finished a whole Wood Elves Army, started some Dark Eldar and painted the odd mini i liked in my absence. I'm actually really glad I finally got my sister bug back.

I decided this time round to do a larger batch. So we have 11 bolter sisters, 2 flamers, 3 meltaguns, 1 multi-melta, 4 heavy bolters and 4 superiors, plus an imaginifier i had which i thought i'd add for no particular reason =p The gold armour is finished, and i've tidied up any mistakes ready for the next steps....

Nothing really of note as far as conversion go apart from this one -

http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv205/Sjetaj/Sisters%20of%20Battle/DSCN0924.jpg

I needed another superior with combiflamer for my second dominion squad, so slapped that one together from a spare seraphim model i had.

This is all the standard power armour models i'm going to need for the army. After comes the painting of 3 Rhino's, 2-3 Immolaters, 2 Exorcists. And then Uriah+cult+Rhino. Finish up my Seraphim Squad which is nearly finished already, and then Celestine, and possibly a Repentia squad. Hoping I can stick with it this time.

Cheers guys! Back to work!

Solid day at work today, so was pretty tired when i got home. Nearly didnt paint anything, but i forced myself and really glad i did. Managed to basecoat the black for the metals, and get the first layer of red down. Bed time!

@ Ludovic - Its still in the draw heh, havent done any more work on it. Maybe i'll finish it 1 day!

@Ch@oZ - Thanks! As for the Rhino, that will actually be a Immo (turret isnt stuck down). I didnt really like the look of sister rhino's, so i traded the extra top hatches i needed to make the standard space marine rhino's with a friend. So my rhino's will look like normal space marine rhino's, only i have all the details from the immo sprue that i can to.
