Flesh Tearers - Army Workshop WD 376

Recommended Posts

I got a copy of this months WD and it contains a nice workshop on Flesh Tearers.

It highlights painting schemes, has a nice featured strike force and then shows us somethign i was interested in...a new paint scheme for FT Rhinos as well as a really nice one for the Storm Raven.

Gabriel Seth also looks sexy as hell (for a superhuman killing machine).

Its nice to see in a FT feature in WD, and I thought all you FT fans deserved to know straight away (we all know who you are lol).

Blood for Blood!.

Is this the new GK issue or the one before it with the big BA bit in it?

I am thinking about getting both as I wanna eye up what GK bits I can pinch for projects

And the BA heavy one well that's self explanatory!! Anyway yeah which issue has the FT bit in?

I can't remember if it's in last month's full BA issue or this month's GK issue. I bought last month's just this week at my game shop but I also flipped through the GK issue and I remember seeing the FT spread in one of them. I'm reasonably confident in saying it was in this month's GK issue, but someone else might be able to tell you for sure.

I love the Flesh Tearers, but I hate that they took away the unique scheme for the Death Company that they had (grey with red instead of black with red). One of the other forumers has a sexier Stormraven, in my humble opinion (although it could use some more black on it), he's got a nice idea with the circular saw pattern edging his wings.

Have a refernce for this?

The unique scheme or the fact that they took it away?

No matter, I'll post both!

The original Flesh Tearers scheme is in White Dwarf 250 along with their initial Index Astartes article. It was later reprinted in Index Astartes I.

The new codex says, on page 80:

The Successor Chapters invariably maintain a Saunguinary Guard and Death Company of their own, following the same color schemes as those laid down by the Blood Angels. The only exception are the Angels Encarmine who adorn both these specialist units in alabaster white armour...

Page 80

This is then reinforced by the Flesh Tearers army pic in this month's White Dwarf issue where his Death Company are Black/Red.

Yeah I did a bit of a search, Apparantly the pic from WD 250 was just a photo of someone randoms Flesh Tearers and not part of the article, and said photo didnt appear in Index Astartes 1.

There's just too much black on the WD issue Stormraven. Our helmets, shoulderpads, backpacks, and crest on the cuirass of our armor are black. The majority of our armor is Red Gore. So I make sure I incorporate our armor scheme on my FT vehicles. (If I can quit buying and building, and get my ass back to work painting!!)

I have a prototype tank I'm working on for fun games, and if it works out, I'm going to submit it to GW, and petition to get it added.

The Zealot pattern Baal Predator.

TLAC with (the stormraven's) Hurricane bolter side sponsons. Developed to supplement much needed firepower to Cretacia's finest, the Flesh Tearers. More info on playtesting after it's finely painted.
