lucky bastard! ;)

building guide.....lol.. must be for al those kids out there

The new kits (Termies, PAGK and NDK) have a detailed building guide enclosed.

Suggesting which arms fit with which wepaons, and how to build the multiple different unit types from each box (or weapon options for the NDK).

Much more in depth than any else (bar vehicles) I've seen.

I'm so mad - I ordered the codex and a GK box from GW with in store pick up b/c I thought it would take longer if I had it shipped direct, now my order is sitting in the back of the store but they won't give them out until tomorrow, if I had it shipped to me I'd have it already. Oh well, live and learn.

Well I have seen people struggle with even the standard tac marine box sometimes (children admittedly) so it figures that with a kit so complex and varied GW thaught it wize to preempt the legions of (not especially bright) kids making a complete ballsup of their models. It wont stop it being a fiddly kit tho so I can still see plenty of badly assembled GK making their way into stores.

You wouldent be the first person to make that mistake. Store managers get all 3rd Reich when it commes to release dates even when direct sales send out preorders almost a week in advance alot of the time! Shipping to store is basicaly never any faster unless for whatever reason you wont be at home when its delivered and would find it easier to call into your local store after work or something rather than having to visit the mail depot.

The reason is because a lot of the weapons are designed specifically in "sets" (left arm A matches with right arm A which fits sword A or halberd A).

If you look at the sprue each of the parts that pair up are labeled A through E. A little more complicated than, say, Tactical marines.

There's good reason for this - if you get caught selling models early, the threat is to pull your account, or put it at a lower level. That's pretty bad news if you're getting all the pre-release stuff a coupe weeks ahead of time - that stuff really helps boost initial sales for the release.

I'm stoked for Saturday - I've got my 8 boxes of PAGK, 2 Boxes of Termies and a Dreadknight waiting in the back room at the hobby shop. Hopefully I'll get them entirely built whilst I'm working there that day. :-D

I bought Coteaz. Now I can turn most of the Imperial Guard models sitting in my boxes into a legal (albeit small) army.

A 200 point army to fight alongside my Space Wolves (as a self contained army, not as allies obviously).

I then went a little mad and stuck together a robed marine body, with the Sanguinary Guard dual handed sword and the Space Wolves Conan head. He's going to be an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor carrying those handy grenades. 99 points with two servo skulls.

Actually I think I'm just going to raid all those loose models that I've picked up over the years and put them into units. Witch Elves as DCA, Dwarfs as Crusaders, so on and so forth. A warband army is a counts-as dream.

I might buy Jokaero... but then there's only one model so that would get rather boring rather quickly.
