90pt vindicators for grey knights?

Recommended Posts

So i can take coteaz and spam 6 squads of 5 psykers in a rhino, giving me a 36" str 10 ap 1 ordanance, armour 11,11,10 vehicle that can fire its stormbolter and ordanance at the same time, awesome. all i need to do is pass a psychic test on ld 8.

might add in an extra 1 model like a warrior incase of perils of the warp.

so only 676pts for an army of 6 scoring vindicators gives me 74 pts to burn in a 750 tornament

I made a mention of the "Inquisitorial Vindicator" in this thread here.

I think it would make for a fun army, but if you think about it, Ld 8 means you will fail almost 50% of your shots, and you have a 1/6 chance of an epic misfire. Thats poor odds in general.

You get 3 + 1 for each guy after the first so with 5 psykers isn't that only S7 AP2?? S10 requires 8 psykers.

Yes you would need 8 to get Str 10.

how is that one warrior going to help? if you roll a 2 or a 12, then all the psykers are dead dead deadstki.

he might be good for throwing their warped carcasses out of the transport though :(

It keeps the unit still scoring because they're not all dead. 1 guy left can still hold an objective.

For four points.

I think that Warrior Acolytes are on a par with grots for cheap scoring units. Cheaper in fact because you can get a squad of three.

My Cadian "Acolytes" will be armed with hellguns (difficult/annoying to convert their lasguns) and my Catachan "Acolytes" will have bolters. Storm bolters would be better, but harder to come up with. The Catachans still outgun Space Marines 3 to 1 point for point.

I'll finally get to field my three assassins (Callidus, Eversor, and Vindicare).

I guess I'll be relying on Servitors for heavy weapons though, pity I don't have a lot of them and I can only field two reliable squads with them because they require Inquisitors to oversee. Those Inquisitors are probably going to be heading across the board leaving them behind. Because they nerf the entire squad with mindlock it's tempting to just field squads of three, but then they'll just get shot down. Acolytes to the rescue I guess. 30 points in Servitors, 30 points of bolter armed Acolytes, stick them in cover, take the hits on the Acolytes.
