alloyslayer
as the title says, just a couple of questions i need help with. the 1st is if i have a grand master and he uses grand strategy to make my interceptor squads count as troops, if i combat squad will both halves have it? i'd say yes but i just want to make sure. and 2nd is i have never used a psychic power before, i have got the general idea. but if i cast sanctuary on a unit thats about to charge me, if he chooses not to move will they still have to test for difficult/dangerous terrain? 3rd can a vindicare sniper really get up to 27 on the dice roll to pen a tank? ##edit## - spelling Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226330-3-questions/ Share on other sites
Ashe Darke
1st - Yes 2nd - Nope, only if he attempts to do it. 3rd - It looks likes it 3 + 4d6 and those 4 d6 rend. And it's a maximum of 39 assuming you get the +3 for having sniper. Justcar
Vindis (on average) penetrate a land raider. And don't forget that the exitus rifle is an AP 1 weapon. So you also add 1 to the damage result!! evileyevirtue
the 1st is if i have a grand master and he uses grand strategy to make my interceptor squads count as troops, if i combat squad will both halves have it? i'd say yes but i just want to make sure. Grand Strategy takes place before deployment. Combat squads take place at deployment. So, if the 10 man unit has a rule, and you combat squad them, why would they lose it? Simply put, they're given it and combat squads does not take away any rules. and 2nd is i have never used a psychic power before, i have got the general idea. but if i cast sanctuary on a unit thats about to charge me, if he chooses not to move will they still have to test for difficult/dangerous terrain? First, you don't cast Sanctuary on a unit. You cast the power and it has an effective radius from the Librarian. So, if he elects to charge your unit that is within the powers bubble, he would have to roll for those effects. Mind you, because of the charge rules, he would roll for difficult first and if he wasn't in range, as per the assault rules, they wouldn't move and therefore would not be subject to dangerous checks. Also note, it is done at the beginning of the opponents assault phase, so you would have to cast it before he actually made any assault moves.
