Uprising
For my diy chapter, i am using both C:SM and the space wolf codex to represent my idea. The biggest problem i am facing is the different option in the codexes. Since i hate spending money, i have decide to magnetize the arms of all my power armour and terminator marines. I plan on ordering from thewarstore.com but can`t decide of which size. Here the link for the magnets--- http://www.thewarstore.com/magcraft.html So which size is best? As always thank you for your time. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226385-which-size-magnets/ Share on other sites
Quixus
The link does not work. Anyways to magnetize arms and backpacks I used 3mm x 1mm on both parts. They are just the right size. If you want to magnetize hands or combiweapons you will have to go smaller. The magnets are even strong enough to hold the metal bolt pistol arm on the Librarian. Drilling the holes was a pain though. If you do lots of magnets, get a dremel or an electric drill. Just check the polarity and use the same combination for every model. Tabgoi
Here is a list of the numbers and sizes of magnets I use and what I use them for. Mind you they are in inches because that's what K&J magnets uses and they have been great for me. Also, when you see a N52, that indicates a stronger magnet for that size, I tend to use the weaker ones because they are cheaper and you can still lift a mini with them no problem, even metal minis. D101-N52 1/16" X 1/32" For use when magnetizing hands, these go into the hands D201 1/8" X 1/32" For use when magnetizing arms and back packs. For metal back packs (heavy weapons and Techmarines) use the D201-N52. D12-N52 1/16" X 1/8" For use when magnetizing hands, these go into the arms. They are cylinders. D601 11/16" X 1/32" For Dreadnaught Arms. Hope this helps.
