Nian
So as I see it, Psycannons are super rare in the new 5th ED fluff, not only that but razorbacks are now included in the dex and naturally Psycannons are not included in its wargear options. What is everyones take on still fielding the Ordo Malleus Razorback from forgeworld with the twin-linked Psycannon? Yes or no? there are no twin-linked Psycannons in the dex so I can't compare the point cost but going by the cost of a normal psycannon for a grey knight, I would say the Ordo Malleus Razorback may be considered too cheap by a few points. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226401-good-bye-ordo-malleus-razorback-with-psycannon/ Share on other sites

The Psycannnon can choose Assault 2 or Heavy 4, beyond that an Assault Cannon with Psybolts is identical. Does anyone think we got jipped now they they took away the special rule where Psycannons and Incinerators ignored invulnerability saves> Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226401-good-bye-ordo-malleus-razorback-with-psycannon/#findComment-2711168 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
The choice between two and four normally shouldn't matter when mounted on a vehicle, unless you want to fire fewer shots. Nian
The choice between two and four normally shouldn't matter when mounted on a vehicle, unless you want to fire fewer shots. Looking at the rules, Termies always use heavy 4, so one assume the rule would have been the same. So basically with Psybolts, an Assault Cannon on the Razorback is identical to a psycannon. The main difference is a whopping 31 points more expensive than the original Ordo Malleus Razorback. Ouch thats a costly change. Skyhawk
Well, the Forge World Psycannons are still "old" so negate invulnerable saves. Whitefireinferno
Well, the Forge World Psycannons are still "old" so negate invulnerable saves. Is that like saying my old metal GK still have their old statline? because it really don't work like that.... its either space in a bits box or you can use the Asscans with psybolt ammo to have it the same as the other psy cannons it is the easiest way to do so. Iron Lord
The same principle can apply to the Forgeworld Redeemer- psybolt ammo and psyflame ammo. Str 7 flamestorm cannons might be rather nasty, even if they don't ignore Invulnerable saves any more. Nian
What I hope for is that forgeworld updates their units soon. Solomon Lok and Hector Rex could do with a revision too. Either way, the cost of an assault cannon with psybolts is high and its questionable wether it's worth it vs another heavy weapon. Are the psycannon upgrades for the land raider, dreadnought and razorback now pointless? Nothing special with the incinerator or psycannon now. Bloody Ward cant leave.things alone, he has to screw with everything Arg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226401-good-bye-ordo-malleus-razorback-with-psycannon/#findComment-2711842 Share on other sites
crandall87
Try Twin-Linked Assault Cannon with Psybolt ammo. Looks like a Psycannon to me. Iron Lord
If one already has the model- I think it would make sense to treat it as assault cannon with psybolt ammo- since you're getting the same effect as a current-edition psycannon- and it enables you to use the model you've already got.
