Xenocidal Maniac
Just started a new Flesh Tearers army. Super excited. This is my fourth 40k army, but my first time doing BA. I've loved BA since I first got into 40k back in the beginning of 3rd Ed, so I am excited to finally be doing them. I'm gonna keep this army fluffy rather than competitive. The Flesh Tearers are small in number, have lots of death company, and limited access to vehicles. I am going to keep it that way and just make this a fun army. I don't really care if I win or lose, as long as I kill lots of stuff. Alright, here's the first squad and a Sanguinary Priest. Comments welcome. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/Hyakushiki/Flesh%20Tearers/FT3a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/Hyakushiki/Flesh%20Tearers/FT1a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/Hyakushiki/Flesh%20Tearers/FT6.jpg
evileyevirtue
Well, the pictures are a bit shaky, but otherwise they look great! Everything looks well executed and the colors are nice. Did you use a decal for those symbols? The only thing I can see that i would comment negatively are those barrels... hopefully you plan to bore them out a bit. Midnightmare
Very nice, the colours remind me of Mortarions Flesh Tearers (go chck them out, they are awesome!) Good stuff (esp the Priest) :whoops:
Xenocidal Maniac
Thanks, guys! I am looking forward to painting this army. Yes, I made my own decals using Testor's Custom Decal Kit and the graphics from this wonderful website. They worked out well. As for boring out the barrels, I don't know. I know everyone is a big proponent of it, but personally I don't think it adds much to the models for the amount of work it is and the potential for disaster. I will think about it! :D Thanks! SamaNagol
Remember Flesh Tearers have limited access to fancy vehicles. Not basic transports.
Xenocidal Maniac
Remember Flesh Tearers have limited access to fancy vehicles. Not basic transports. Yeah, for sure, thanks. I am going to have each small assault squad in a Razorback, but will limit things like Land Raiders and Storm Ravens.
Xenocidal Maniac
Razorback done. Hope you like it! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/Hyakushiki/Flesh%20Tearers/FTRB03.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/Hyakushiki/Flesh%20Tearers/FTRB01.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/Hyakushiki/Flesh%20Tearers/FTRB04.jpg
1Drop
That razorback is amazing bro, actually jaw dropping! The rest are really good too, I see you have been using lots of chaos bits too, which box did you get the chaos head on one of your troops from? It looks very vamp-ish. captain Angel
So those are Zerker heads. Appropriate. I truly enjoy these minis. I will say that they some of the nicest Flesh tearers i have seen yet. excellent job.
AGPO
I LOVE that razorback! Is the saw pattern freehand? You've really made them look savage without making them look like Chaos Marines, kudos.
Xenocidal Maniac
Thanks a lot, guys! Yes, the pattern is freehand. It was pretty tough to pull off! :) I am going for savage without being over-the-top. Glad to hear I am pulling it off so far. Thanks.
1Drop
Yeah, I knew I recognised the head from somewhere, I build like 30 khorne bezerkers when they brought the multipart plastic kit out in 2001/02 sort of time, I miss my word bearer/khornate daemon army, it was near invincible, a blood thirster and kharne the betrayer upfront, heads be rollin' (and then picked up and pollished and sent back to the blood god, lol)

SevenExxes
I really like the use of Chaos bits. It's a good example of "less is more". Those twinlinked assault cannons are really nice too.

Xenocidal Maniac
Keep them coming, love the Razor!! Nice details on them all :P EDIT: How did you paint the 'pale and pasty' complections? Cheers. Oops, I missed this question. You know, the skin actually looks better in RL. But that's ok. The recipe for this is really easy, too. I use P3 Cryx Bane Highlight as a base, and then just keep adding white for the highlight layers. I do about three highlight layers and call it a day. Thanks for the compliment, ReachOnyx! Ebsolom
These are some very nice Flesh Tearers mate :P ! I like the use of Khorne and chaos bits to add to the savagery of this fine chapter :P I'm also going to chip in and say the barrels need drilling, it would be a shame not to on these beautiful models.
