To kill a Grey Knight

psyflemen are more likely to yeah but i doubt psycannons are gonna matter much. of the shots that hit only half are even going to glance and even then less are going to cause any damage at all. especially if you popped smoke. also psycannons dont have much in the way of range, especially when the squad is going to want to be moving towards combats and they get even less shots. psilencers and incinerators are the better weapons at the moment. psycannons dont seem like they're going to be a mainstay. psyflemen are gonna give you problems but not all armies are going to have them and they arent too hard to take out. we have so much more anti-armour firepower that we can get rid of their big guns before they can get rid of ours.

4 shots S7 Rending is nothing to laugh at in my book. All they have to do is keep your rhinos from moving and they have earned their cost. A few friends of mine run the new GK, some with the Heavy Support guys with 4 psycannons. Very good at killing rhinos, is my experiance. But I never do the math, so you might be right.

Sad i've had to drop the thunderwolves :P Gks have taken off at my local store so have had to go back to the drawing board. I came away with 90 blood claws, some long fangs and a sprinkling of priests for preferred enemy. It wont be pretty, but then neither is the GK codex.

Numbers, plasma, shooty, rune staffs.

Look on the bright side, if you were a Blood Angel you would have to put Mephiston back on the shelf about now! At least we have the option to go shooty, and do it very well.

The GKs totally pwn Thunderwolves? Crumbs.

I believe you don't need to change your list to kill GK, just your tactics.

I only popped out 2x meltaguns for 2x plasmaguns on one GH squad. Still have my Thunderwolves and Thunderlord, just know when to use that huge counter-assault potential versus using their huge assault potential.

15 Plasma Cannon Fangs - Let the sun wolf av em. :P

Yeah, I dropped my thunder wolves. It was an expensive unit and GKs have over taken my local store, so cant have so many points tied up in a unit that is vulnerable to all those force weapons. I think they can still work with the right tactics, but I took the opportunity to try new units. Which is a good thing.

Do you think that going with 15 plasma cannons just for GK would be list tailoring just a bit? Like I said, GK do not warrant a massive list change, just a change in tactics.

Having played against all sorts of GK lists in the recent past, including but not limited to Purifier spam, Paladin spam, GKT spam, GKPA spam (props to these guys), Henchman spam, and Mech, I make the following post in the hopes that my experience gained will better serve the Wolf community as a whole.

Grey Hunters wreck GK face continually IF AND ONLY IF you use them wisely. My normal GH-based list (2500 points) wrecks GK face day in, day out, without ever changing. Two squads of Plasmacannon Fangs, one squad of Lascannons, GH with Plasma (empty Lasplas Razors) or Flamers, lots of Rhinos and Razors.

To this day my worst fight against them resulted in me losing about 1/4th of my army. It's all about the tactics and strategy.

TL;DR version: Listen to Ramses.
