Painted honour markings

Need to ask some advice from the pack, so recently I participated in a 500pt round robin style in-store competintion, somehow i had managed to fit a scary number of pupies (about 20 give or take) into the army list. Now I wias playing agains one of my mates and he had a lemun russ excecutioner which made short work of most of my wolves, however my 3 remaining blood claws managed to footslog the length of the board (only on a 2'x4'but still 4' under heavy fire is no small feat) asault the tank and then blow it up with there krak grenades.

In a similar batle my single long fang with heavy bolter over the course of 3 turns acounted or about 8 - 9 fire wariors (once again no small feat especially with my dice roll abilities yeay for cypher kills) and seriously swung the battle into my favour.

So the models are already fully painted, based the whole lot and I dont really whant to model more wolf pelts or tails or pendants onto them, so I was hoping that one of you could give me a suitible honour that I can paint onto the model so that I can fondly remember there awesome achievments, so far I've used the single yellow stripe on there weapons but that seems a bit to codex chapters for me.

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks

:)

Individual models that distinguish themselves in my army get named.

Another idea that i've seen is to add stars to their shoulderpads as an award to a unit which performed well.

Codex honor markings can work as well but you stated you didn't want to give the codex feel.

Fluffwise i know the wolftail talisman is used and a brother who performs a significant act of bravery has his deeds recorded in his own saga which is told in the fang.

there are different pack markings in the space wolves codex , tough if you are feeling really creative

for the blood claws you can paint their pack marking to be a smashing fist, or use an upside down imperial fists symbol and put some fangs on the gauntlet.

as for the long fangs how bout the fanged head which is normally biting on a knife and modify the knife a bit so it looks like the tau rifles (they are just straight pieces without much detail so it wouldnt be TOOOOOO much work)

thats what i can think of for now

I can just imagine the Wolf Lord walking through the ranks with sheets of stickers, handing out gold stars for good behavior and performance, while handing out black stars for bad behavior and demerits.

"You get a gold star!" :)

/Logan turns over another page of his list/ "And now, letter L". /looks sadly up/ "No star for You this year, Lukas..."

Some sniggering from rank-and-file, which stops as soon as Lukas turns in their direction.
