what are we talking about? apocalypse? fluffwise or on your random force org chart game?

rulewise the only allies we can still take in a normal point game are from the witch hunter codex and this doesn't have any deathwatch marines in it. thinking of it, which codx has deathwatch marines in it?

DeathWatch are not included in any current Codex from GW. They are Chapter Approved. Technically they are the Chamber Militant of the Inquisitions Ordo Xenos, which doesn't have a Codex. The other Ordos within the Inquisition do: Ordo Malleus - Chqapter 666 aka Grey Knights and the DaemonHnters Suppliment; and the Ordo Hereticus - Sisters of Battle and the WitchHunters Suppliment.

As to the OP's question, I reckon one of the members that plays more than I do will have the answer you seek. I'm just in it for the models and fluff these days.

In normal games, you can't take Deathwatch as allies, unfortunately (since they're very cool and our chapter is allied with them). The only allies still in supported rules are Ordo Hereticus units from the Witchhunters codex (as of the release of Codex: Grey Knights 5th Edition). I sometimes take an inquisitor lord with plasma gunner veteran guardsmen in an Imperial Armor chimera and a vindicare as allies because I love the vindicare, but recently I've felt a little cheesy doing this because my vindicare tends to make a habit of sniping several important enemy models per game, often times including vital characters.

If you want to do a counts-as Deathwatch kind of thing, the closest thing to the old chapter approved kill-team rules is the Codex: Space Marines sternguard veteran squad. You could take them as Apocalypse allies or make homebrew rules for using them. If you want to do this outside of Apocalypse and in a way that's legal under currently supported rules, the only unit in the Space Wolf codex that, in my opinion, would really work as a Deathwatch kill-team is the wolf guard pack. A traditional kill-team could be represented by a power armored wolf guard pack with lots of combi-weapons. They wouldn't have specialist ammunition, unfortunately (why don't we have specialist ammunition, by the way?), but combi-weapons have a Deathwatch feel to them as well. You could also put them in terminator armor. The Deathwatch does have terminator armor, but they aren't traditionally seen wearing it. It could be a very cool modeling/painting opportunity as well, and if anyone tells you that Deathwatch marines don't wear terminator armor, point them to the new Deathwatch RPG book, which apparently includes it.
