Arias, treated as a NFW...wait, WHICH ONE?

New rules for Hector Rex states that his weapon Arias "is an ancient relic which is treated as a Nemesis Force Weapon that never requires worse than a 4+ to wound a Daemon regardless of the target's Toughness."

I'm confused. Which NFW is it? Is it just NF Sword? or like the fluff suggest, an relic blade (in C:SM)? Since the guy has been equipped with an bolt pistol, can he get +1 A or something? Dear lord.

Well I like the model, so I'm gonna use him regardless of the rules, as proxy/count-as or something anyway.

Come get it while it's hot :D Free Forge World rules Download!

Happy hunting ;)

Heh, those Vehicle Psycannons are the same cost as purchasing an Assault Cannon + Psybolt Ammo. ;)

I know, right? :D

Ironically, you save 5 points on the Dread by purchasing an assault cannon + psybolt ammo versus going for the psycannon... that makes no sense.

Where I find it the best deal is in upgrading the twin-linked heavy bolter on a standard Land Raider into a tl psycannon. Now that's juicy! I am totally still doing this since no longer is there a difference from my Inquisitorial dedicated transport Land Raider versus the heavy support choice one. Or rather.. there is (if I use IA volume 2) but it's um.. not really worth it now. Better to just use the heavy support slot now ;)

It's even worse on the Redeemer and Crusader. Upgrade to a Psycannon for 20 points, or just buy Psybolt ammunition for 5, which upgrades all the projectile weapons. I suppose a case can be made for Crusader that it will still leave the Hurricane Bolters as defensive weapons, but still.

Forgeworld email newsletter has as follows.

The recently released Codex Grey Knights and accompanying range of new plastic kits are now available in Games Workshop Hobby centres the world over, and Forge World writer Alan Bligh has taken a short break from his work on forthcoming Imperial Armour and Warhammer Forge books to update the rules for Forge World’s range of Grey Knights and Inquisition models.

This free download contains fully updated rules for Forge World’s two unique Inquisitors and their retinues: Hector Rex of the Ordo Malleus and Solomon Lok of the Ordo Xenos; as well as our Psycannon Upgrade, allowing Grey Knights players to field Thunderhawks, Razorbacks and Land Raiders with these potent anti-psyker weapons. The Forge World Grey Knights Land Raider Redeemer and Grey Knights MkIV Venerable Dreadnought now have fully updated rules as well.

In addition to these unique kits, Forge World also produce a wide range of resin Rhino and Land Raider accessories, resin Icons and Etched Brass symbols that are perfect for individualising your Grey Knights miniatures and vehicles, some of which can be seen in the colour section of the new Codex.

Forgeworld rules update.

So there you go guys, no more than 2 days after I was commenting on how forgeworld need to update their rules, and lo and behold, here they are. Nice one Alan Bligh, your a hero to the imperium.

One thing I will comment on is that the psycannons are nice to have as an option but the price is askew, given that an assault cannon + psybolts is the same as a psycannon, why would you spend 5 points more just to have the privileged of saying its an actual psycannon? Same stats are the same stats, he needs to drop the cost by a little so that its at the very least the same as an assault cannon + psybolts cost. Not more. And if possible, maybe 5 points less than that combination.

Hector Rex and Solomon Lok are actually worth getting now, half decent and their points are drastically reduced, Although Rex could do with a little more points shaved off, hes still now an ok HQ choice.
