tksolway
What do people think of this guy. I have always wanted to paint that model because it just looks cool. I now have an excuse to do so, however I am wondering whether you guys think he is a useful model or not? Gentlemanloser
Rubbish. Loved him as the original, first and only, Imperial MC. The only use for him now is to laugh as you drop non scattering Lance Strike on your own people. Iron Father Rik
He's a n awesome model, and he has really cool background and personal character. What more reason do you need? Cpt. Blood Donator
Makes that 1 man Paladin Squad all the more tempting. Or just drop it on an NDK. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226663-karamazov/#findComment-2715119 Share on other sites
Whoopxi
Crusaders + Orbital relay = Quite a resiliant tarpit in which to drop bombs on. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226663-karamazov/#findComment-2715315 Share on other sites

DeathKorpsman
Speaking of dropping it on Crusaders, how about a LRC? Tank shock that bad boy into a big mob of stuff that can't hurt it and then use the barrage that can't hurt it. Oooh that's nice. Very situational though. Dropping the same one on a dread in CC is also an option, though you have the off chance of a glance (not a big deal in CC usually, especially if its a Ven for rerolls). eadipus
After reading a post on it somewhere I've got the idea in my head that Karamazov is chock full of awesome if you attach him to a Paladin squad. He brings T5 so you can pop all those nasty strength 8/9 hits on him The Multi-Melta will help with popping vehicles He can choose to pass or fail leadership tests so your 400+ point unit doesn't run like little girls and for some unknown reason he's got Rad Grenades to make the Paladins even scarier in CC than they are already something like: Karamazov Paladin w/Sword + Psycannon Paladin w/Halberd + Psycannon Paladin w/Daemonhammer Paladin w/Halberd + Apothecary Paladin w/MC Daemonhammer which comes to about 600 points of pure awesomesauce, with every model being differently equipped and the whole squad with FNP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226663-karamazov/#findComment-2715664 Share on other sites
krewl
Big question on him is, does his relentless help enough, as relentless lets you fire heavy weapons on the move, but not ordinance as far as I know. Also you do not want him walking around solo but joined to a unit, but GK units would not want and thus they themselves to remain stationary which would hamper your upfield movement. He is a good MM platform though, adding T5 so he can soak S8 and 9 hits on a terminator unit he joins and adding his stubborn to keep them at Ld 10. All in all I'd say he has improved a bit from his last incarnation. The LRC trick is a fun idea but keep in mind that you need to place the center on your LRC, so no just clipping the side with an edge. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226663-karamazov/#findComment-2715669 Share on other sites
DeathKorpsman
That's true, but the Barrage Bomb is D3, so if you roll additional you can place them where you want. Place the center hole right on the edge of the LRC and the large blast will cover a pretty decent area and then the other potential one or two blasts will be placed to touch the first. Not a bad setup really, though like I said totally situational. I like Eadipus' idea of the Paladin/Karamazov deathstar, but lord almighty is that a ton of points to throw in one blob. Pretty killy though, with a stubborn ATSKNF squad that is good against both infantry and vehicles if you include some Daemonhammers. I'd throw a brotherhood banner in there since, amusingly enough, it gives the extra attack to Karamazov too. He has no force weapon though, sad. The orbital relay has specific rules for not being able to move and fire it, so even if Relentless did cover ordnance (which it doesn't), he wouldn't be able to. Still, I think overall it would be a good use of him to make Paladins more resilient. If you don't take them though, his best place is in a heavy weapon henchmen band by far. Judanas
He has no force weapon though, sad. Karamazov: "Most Certainly NOT! That is the weapon of dirty, unclean psykers, a taint upon our proud..." *Looks right at Paladin, Look left at Paladin* "Well...poop" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226663-karamazov/#findComment-2715707 Share on other sites
