IamCaboose
Just wondering if there are any scenic bases out there you guys would recommend for an all GK army. I figured it's small enough to merit all scenic bases. Thanks Caboose Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226695-bases/ Share on other sites
Principalis Yasha
Not sure what look you are aiming for with your bases but this place has a lot of different kinds in all sizes and in nearly all kinds og themes. - Yasha Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226695-bases/#findComment-2715646 Share on other sites
Brother Valerius
Personally, I plan to use these as they are absolutely gorgeous and seem to fit the GK theme. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226695-bases/#findComment-2715805 Share on other sites
gil galed
Personally these are where it's at for my money, use the lava ones for my GK. (and the urban ones for my tau). Plus imo they are fantastically cheap compared to the majority of resin bases! RedemptionNL
Personally, I plan to use these as they are absolutely gorgeous and seem to fit the GK theme. I was going to get those initially, but I wanted to do my entire army with resin bases, and even with a smaller army like GK, it adds up quick. Additionaly I didn't like how a lot of those Temple bases are slanted, making all your models stand at a tilt. In the end I went for Secret Weapon Miniatures Flagstone line. It's less fancy, but it's a lot cheaper, and the quality it still very good. Brother Valerius
Unfortunately my personal requirements are a limitation, because I want a line of bases that includes an oval base for the Dreadknight/Stormraven. That doesn't seem to be very common, so there are a lot of nice bases I passed up while looking simply because they didn't have a size I want. Secret Weapon makes oval bases, but it doesn't have one for the Flagstone line yet. I've contacted the owner to see if he has an ETA on oval bases for that line. I didn't really like the oval base that is in the MAS Temple line though, it's way too messy. And I doubt you can easily fit something the Stormraven's flying stand on it. Brother Valerius
Ah, fair enough. I like how busy the base is, but that's a matter of taste I know. I do think I'll be able to stick a Stormraven flying stem on it, however. There are a few flat-looking areas that should hold it, and worst case scenario is that I have to carve out a cross shape to stick the stem into. I think it's doable, and if all else fails... I can look elsewhere. I figure I'll buy an oval base first, and then buy more later if I can make it work. If not, I'm out $20 but worse things have happened. gil galed
When it came to my oval bases I just stuck nice blocks of polystyrene on, still fits in really nicely ;) ~Gil Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226695-bases/#findComment-2716519 Share on other sites
