Know No Fear

I thought the stand off between lorgar and roboute could not have been written more perfectly. And personally i could just feel guilimans conflict and anger simmering behind his cool demeanour as i was reading it.

I'm really looking forward to Guiliman getting some major attention as lets face it, this guy held the imperium together in the aftermath of the hersey. And while his "tactical brilliance etc.." is always touted, he's a primarch... he kills a brother primarch in alpharius "ok debated"... but it stands alone that with his brothers he's a demi god of a badass warrior. So lets see that side of him for once too.

One thing i don't understand is that Emperor's face is ever changing yet he looks like Lorgar. How come ?

No, Lorgar looks like him, or at least the face he chooses to display the most to his sons (which may or may not be the Emperor's real face).

I don't think it's too wise to get hyped about roboute and his boys, in the first heretic he was portrayed as a very boring character, as opposed to Magnus, Russ, and Lorgar who were exuberant and exciting to read

He was struck down by a brother Pirimarch in the presence of his own warriors, Malcador, and every single Word Bearer.

But he did not react. He did not lose his temper. He oozed calm and control in the face of gross insult and provocation.

I thought he was awesome :)

This.

Lorgar throws a temper tantrum and Guilliman shows restraint. Although Lorgar hit Malcador, the oldest friend of his Father and a relatively un-augmented human, which Lorgar claims to worship as a god, and attacked his brother with freaking weapon. And what does Guilliman do? Keeps his cool. Does not react and reminds the whining, frothing failure to do his damn duty to the Imperium.

At the least, it shows us the dichotomy in their dispositions and outlooks.

It will be interesting to see upcoming HH books dealing with Guilliman because he has gotten so little "screen time" until now.

Yup, he was ok, but I think the reason of this scene was to show that Lorgar was awesome.

He was on his knees, broken, in shame, a failure. He was not looking cool.

But there was this moment when they said that Lorgar was always silent, almost only whispering and then he's screaming, yelling, slapping Malcador, hitting hard Guilliman.... now, that was AWESOME.

You have to watch for the quiet ones!

Or maybe just Lorgar and Word Bearers saw that?

We do not even know who (or what) the Emperor really is.

Maybe he has a long-term plan, and Lorgar's boys are a part of it. The atrocities and slaughters Lorgar inflicts -- hating himself, hating his father for making him -- and only learning (very) late in the day that he was just an instrument in a 10,000-year scheme?

Well ok, but sometimes a cigare is just a cigare. It is by now established beyond any doubt, that the Primarchs are genetic derivatives (sons) of the Big E, each one featuring one of his qualities beyond all others, Magnus the Psyker, Jonson the brilliant tactician, Fulgrim vanity and ambition, Mortarion the perseverant and indestructible and so forth.

Lorgar is simply the one primarch who resembles the Big E the most in appearance, quite in line with the fact that he also possesses a latent psychic talent.
