Niiai
Hello, I am wondering if it is posible to get S5 defensive weaponds in grey knights. The entry under the pittle mounted storm bolter stats that it is a defensive weapon. And codex over writes regular rules so if it becomes S5 it should still be defensive, or am I wrong? (The same can not be sead for the huricane(?) bolters as they do not have that wording.) djhg
Defensive weapons are defined specifically as vehicle mounted weapons of S4 or less. So a GK Storm Bolter is a defensive weapon as long as it remains S4 or less. Soon as it hits S5 or more it stops being a defensive weapon. Grey Mage
Youll note it says it uses the profile of a 'standard' storm bolter. Standard stormbolters are S4... and thats why theyre defensive weapons. SeattleDV8
Up until they use Psybolt ammo.. then they count as S5 weapons. BRB pg. 58 tells us that only S4 or less are defensive weapons. Thats why a cyclone launcher can fire frag as defensive but not krak. Edit: GK Codex pg. 61 ...are treated as an additional defensive weapon, with the profile of a normal storm bolter." If you insist that it is a defensive weapon I will insist you use the normal profile. There is no loophole. S5 (psybolt stormbolters) are not defensive weapons.
