SwankPlatypus
Hello fellow B&C people i am a new member and i need some help with something, how do you make plastic inquistors/assassians? I dont like using metal models because my OCDemon prevents me from having a plastic and metal army combined, so i ask again how would you do it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226974-plastic-inquisition/ Share on other sites
Grand Master Tchezzarus
Whats your buget, and what you whant exactly as minis? Do you feel confident using Green stuff or equivalent? Do you mind using non-GW models? DCA an calidus could be made out of dark eldar, inquisitors and vindicare out of SM, Scouts or GI... Keep in mind using just a few bits from different kit could bequickly expensive! So you'd better plane well what will be the desired minis. More questions than solutions, but I think its important. chromedog
No budget and no idea what to do does limit your options somewhat. Eldar or Dark eldar for assassins. Even a mix of bits. The Culexus will be tricky, but the others can all be done. Inquisitors can be made from a combination of 40k and WHFB Empire plastics. No budget means this will take some time to do by scrounging. My club has a bits box, for example. We are allowed to pick from it, but we have to swap bits into it to do so, so surely you have spare bits you can swap with friends or something? Krishar
The IG cadian HQ and troop kits are great for henchmen, you get alot of differant gear, weapons etc. and decent amount of heads etc aswell. But all really depends what kind of henchmen/assasins your looking to make..? lot187
My new Xenos inquisitor w/power armour, force weapon, rad grenades. was made from the simplest scraps and is all you really need out of an inquisitor short of a Coteaz. all he is is a scrap marine body, power weapon, bolt pistol. all he realy needed was a repaint. look into your existing models that don't have a use. in an inquisitor with no budget ether so your not alone, and it can be done. Red Lost Soldier
I used quite a few Dark Angel Veteran bits for my plastic Inquisitor. The robes really make them stand out when they are the only ones taking them. deity12
My friend had made plastic assassins plus henchmen. Best plastic models for assassins is Eldar guardians armour is really similar. Get sniper and maybe wych helmet from online bits site www.modelbitz.co.uk is a good one. In terms of henchmen if you want to be cheap guardsmen do a good job, stick a plasma cannon on them and call them a servitor(they could have internal mechanical bits, humanoid robot maybe?). Another easy way to do it is get something cheap and human(guardsmen are good) and use greem stuff to make a cloak over most of their body with weapon/arms/hands sticking out. Plus, I really like the idea of hooded/robed henchmen(creepy...). Drudge Dreadnought
One of the biggest challenge is doing a plastic inquisitor in power armor. It may seem simple to just use SM bits, but then you end up with a marine sized inquisitor, and your army scale is all screwed up. Making use of scout bits or doing things like leaving off shoulder pads and the backpack can help mitigate this. Iron Man I
One of the biggest challenge is doing a plastic inquisitor in power armor. It may seem simple to just use SM bits, but then you end up with a marine sized inquisitor, and your army scale is all screwed up. Because GW stuff is all in scale  Personally I dont think it to much a problem as long as the model in question looks "Inquistory" enough. Not your Ultramarine captain plunked down on the table :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226974-plastic-inquisition/#findComment-2722471 Share on other sites

Joasht
Brom: curious, where did you get the longer swords for the DCA's? I may be wrong but I recall the Wyche swords are fairly short. Red Lost Soldier
Here is the plastic Inquisitor I made some time ago. DA marine bits, some ravenwing bits, and a Deathwatch helmet. The little angle thing is for when he counts as Coteaz as his Psyber Eagle. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w281/listerryan/Inquisitor1.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w281/listerryan/Inquisitor3.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w281/listerryan/Inquisitor4.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w281/listerryan/Inquisitor5.jpg Also here is his selection of arms. From left we have a Daemonhammer, Incinerator, Plasma Pistol, Bolt Pistol and Hellrifle. These are in addition to his force/power sword and other hand bolt pistol in the other pictures. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w281/listerryan/InquisitorArms1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226974-plastic-inquisition/#findComment-2776697 Share on other sites
Freman Bloodglaive
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5306/5648142702_e9f8c0ccab_z.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5150/5647578313_04e44bae0d_z.jpg The parts are, Dark Angels torso, Blood Angels sword, Black Templars shoulder pad and back pack, Space Wolf head, inquisitor shoulder pad from the Space Marine Captain box. The scale isn't too bad, Coteaz looks taller. Space Marines may be bigger in fluff, but the models GW make have no size consistency anyway. Nian
Would you count resin as plastic? dear OP. The new citadel finecast has several models in resin, you will find all you want will appear eventually non metallic. Demoulius
to be fair marines WOULD be taller even without their power armour, but the added bulk can be explained that his armour makes him taller  most of the marine boxsets have an inquisitor shoulderpad and IIRC the commander has an rosarius or simular inquisitorial sign that you can use ;) just...give him some exotic bits so he stands out as an inquisitor instead of a marine leading henchmen :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226974-plastic-inquisition/#findComment-2779143 Share on other sites
