RooshunVodka
Well, I've gone and done it. I've painted my first mini! I'm trying to decide between The Reborn and Alpha Legion as my army of choice, so here's my Reborn attempt. He's a bit sloppy, and the photos make the green rusty bits look a lot brighter than they actually are, but overall I'm pretty pleased with the results. If you have any improvement suggestions and/or constructive criticism, I'd love to hear it! http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e242/anvion/005-3.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e242/anvion/004-1.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e242/anvion/003.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e242/anvion/002-2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226999-the-reborn-test-model/ Share on other sites
cathar the great
The paint looks a tad thick in places, but the scheme itself looks great. My advice would be to use less paint (thin it with some water) and throw a black or brown wash over the whole mini to bring out some of the detail. Which colors did you use for the corrosion effect? RooshunVodka
Thick paint? All right, I'll try to thin it out more and/or try not to be so overzealous in my layering. Thanks! For the corrosion I used a 50/50 mix of Hawk Turquoise and Scorpion Green, which I then thinned out with about a 1:5 paint/water ratio. curnow
I like it . I would go over the non armourd rubber bits pipes etc again with black just to make them POP atm it could be a statue . Good work Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/226999-the-reborn-test-model/#findComment-2720605 Share on other sites
elohimalpha
Really nice corrosion effect - great work, especially for your first model! I'd suggest picking out a few of the skulls or other details on the armor in a steel or silver before applying the corrosion effect to help give a little more variation to the model - this'll really be an issue when you've got multiple squads running around.
