Blacksad
this probably isn't the right place for this question, but is the base delivered with the Canis model the right size for all Thunderwolf Cavalry??? I've been contemplating on making a drop-podded troop + wolves army (with 3 troops in droppods, and 3 units of fenrisian wolves as troops, canis as HQ, and thunderwolf cavalry) but $90 for 5 thunderwolf mounts seems a bit... much... if however, GW were to make a plastic kit, ooooh baby :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227042-september-thunder-wolves/page/2/#findComment-2722040 Share on other sites
Wulfebane
I would presume the base to be accurate. Even though Canis's wolf, Fangir, is one of the largest thunderwolves ever witnessed (according to C:SW), the lore indicates that thunderwolves can be relative to the size of rhinos, so using a dread base would work. A debate has existed for a while regarding Fenrisian wolves and what bases they should occupy.. the general accord being that of cavalry (or similar sized) bases, so TWs being quite larger than Fenrisian wolves, there's no where to go but up! Levitas
Yeah cool, they make a codex that eats TWM so most will not field and they make the model, good tactics. Yeah, I've had a good run with my Mr Dandy sculpts, but nemesis force weapons have forced a different approach of late - on foot. I swear GW puts two and two together and gets 3. I honestly dont think I can be bothered to buy new ones, Mr Dandy and other 3rd party chums have beaten them to the punch. Unless they really crank up the quality, and drop the thunder squirrel approach of canis then not excited. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Unless they beat Dandy's prices, I'm sticking with him. And I doubt they will beat his prices by enough to have the probable difference in quality be worth it.
