THE GHOMA
This is my take on the Raptors chapter. Please bear with the crappy pics, the closest thing to a camera i have is on my phone and i'd rather use the money i have on other stuff, like more marines. Also the lighting doesn't seem to do these guys justice. I painted these before the IA came out so I was just winging it. The officers have bone helmets, these don't belong to a particular company. Please don't be too harsh, i'm shooting for tabletop quality. first off my commander (Gabriel Seth): I haven't picked a name for him yet, if anyone has any suggestions that would be appreciated. Also these pics are old, his helmet is also now bone colored. My Chaplain Dread: I didn't get too many pics of him, i'll add more if requested My Assault Sergeant: I won't post the others of his squad unless requested, they are very vanilla and aren't too unique in parts or poses. My whirlwind: Objective Marker My StormRaven: I added the scouts to the base because i wanted to have scouts in my army without having scouts. Also the base seemed pretty bland without them. There are much more models, but I don't have the time to take pictures of them. Like all of the others, i'll add them if requested, also you can see them in the army shot. Army shot: Notice the pre-made bases, i accidentally went overboard and made a bunch, fortunately it'll make the next building process much quicker. Also Astartes absolutely love Dr. Pepper, they're prepared to defend that billboard with their life. KfS
Looking good. I've always thought the Raptors were badass. On a side note, I really love the color your walls are painted. Jamo26
Great atmosphere although I think that there needs to be more contrast. For example glowing eyes or some muted reds on the dread. Well anyway i think you've done better then tabletop great job. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227059-raptors-the-green-scheme/#findComment-2719847 Share on other sites
Schultzhoffen
Pretty good. I particularly like the sparrow on the Stormraven. Nice humourous touch. THE GHOMA
The green is achieved by using Gretchin green, then give it a heavy wash of gryphonnie sepia, then a lgiht drybrush with kommando khaki, then bleached bone. Unfortunately the sparrow on the stormraven was never intented, my free hand is god awful, though that stormraven has yet to survive a game without being shot down so sparrow is probably more appropriate. Deit: Fixed the freehand to look a little better Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227059-raptors-the-green-scheme/#findComment-2723323 Share on other sites
Isiah
Great looking growing collection. I like the way you've painted the canopies on the Stormraven. Just out of interest, why didn't you fancy leaving them transparent? I like the closed in look – makes it look more 'armoured'. Task Force Gauntlet
They seem brown to me, is it the lighting? And those helmeted scouts look terrible, the normal helmets aren't proprtioned right for scouts. Also the helmets are only temporary until i order some pig-iron heads. I just didn't want to put any headless scouts on the base. Task Force Gauntlet
Ok, the lighting had seemed bad. That makes sense with the scout heads now. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227059-raptors-the-green-scheme/#findComment-2723402 Share on other sites
