W are playin 2k My list: Bels Libby w Combi Flamer (I had 5 points) 5x THSS Termies w CML 3x Mortis 2x MM/HF Land Speeder. The 3x Mortis is ok with my opp. Should I switch the LS to Missiles? DE put out a lot of fire and we fall to saturation. - Cc should not worry you...unless its with PW opponetns, since they usually strike before you do. Incubi and bikes are paricularly nasty. - if he takes HS vehicles, you got that covered by the dreads...but beware his lances. 20x warriors with double lance are a pain. - typhoon speeders are great, but you need some templates to thin down the swarm...Id stick to HF - I dont see the libby in this scenario...if possible, Id take WWs Hope it helps! I'll be watching this thread intently. I have a match next week with a DE player. I have not yet faced them with their new codex. WWs = whirlwinds? A pair would be nice. With the Librarian dropped you still have to make up 45 points to fit that second in though. As for the LS with flamer, do you think the flamer template out weighs the utility of the Typhoon's missiles? You are still dropping a couple templates on them but can take out transports easily as well. Tanhausen Posted April 12, 2011 Share Posted April 12, 2011 The issue with DE is the mobility. They dont hit that hard (though more and before) but their poisoned rapid fire is devastating. And backfield warriors with lances with HS with cannons and more lances are a nightmare...if the opponent is experienced, he will put pressure with cheap stuff like bikes and maybe a transport with witches, while he prepares the countercharge with incubi and pounds away from 90 cm with the HS and lances. However, the transports are light armour and oppened top...the dreads should work great for them. Flamers...its risky, because of the range. But double flamer template, without armour and T3... its gonna hurt them a lot. FerociousBeast Posted April 12, 2011 Share Posted April 12, 2011 I'd consider swapping some of the TH/SS terminators for LC terminators. The initiative boost on the LCs won't do anything for you, but you will have more attacks and be more likely to wound with LCs than THs (TH = 5/6 chance to wound T3, LC = 8/9 chance to wound T3). You still need to beware the power weapons they will undoubtedly be packing, but two or three LC terminators per squad will really help thin the Dark Eldar models out in CC. I'd also consider dropping the Land Speeders in favor of the Whirlwinds mentioned above, and definitely try to squeeze a Deathwing Command Squad in somehow. Brother Kovash Posted April 12, 2011 Share Posted April 12, 2011 I played 2v2 with a Space Wolves player against DE and Orks, and I didn't get too much action against the DE, but I did get some. An assault cannon can take out their transports and ravagers, just have to pray he doesn't make his cover saves. You shouldn't have any problems with the Mortis and the CML, especially if you have the initiative. One thing to remember is that even though all of our weapons beat their armor saves, they still get to make Feel No Pain rolls if they get that from their combat drugs or whatever craziness it was that my friend was using. If you were to drop the Libby, maybe squeeze in a RW squad with 2 meltaguns? I always like having their teleport homers on the field.
