lorider2
Powers aside, I hate to go to battle without a hood. But since our only hood comes in TDA, I dislike that I basically have to buy the libby a terminator bodyguard, a landraider or a raven - all of which cost 200+. All of them have their uses of course, GK terminators are great. But I just want a cheap hood. Silly complaint? Brother Joseph
im %100 with you on this. why not just give GKGM, GKBC and GKlibby the option to switch to artificer / power armor for free? or the option to take personal teleporters? Adir
Cheap way to protect the hood: take an inquisitor, take his warband, take their chimera and stick your librarian in it! lorider2
A terminator can fit in a chimera? That is a cheaper option, thanks. Adir
A terminator can fit in a chimera? That is a cheaper option, thanks. He sure can. Per the TDA entry the model takes two spaces but there is nothing in the GK book that forbids chimera transportation... yet ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227236-how-to-fit-in-a-hood-in-a-non-termie-list/#findComment-2721738 Share on other sites

Oh Matt Ward, proof-reading is over-rated. Daydreamer
It's not a case of Mat Ward proofreading in this case. ;) Terminator characters, AFAIK, were able to ride in Chimeras in the previous Codex, too. Gentlemanloser
Yup. You could ally some GKT to an IG army and nick thier Chimeras. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227236-how-to-fit-in-a-hood-in-a-non-termie-list/#findComment-2721838 Share on other sites

That sounds brilliant. So the Codex has both this "issue", and the classic "monsterous creature with dread c.c weapon" we all learned to love with the old Wraithlord. 3rd edition is still going strong. Eddie Orlock
I fail to see the issue with terminators riding in Chimera. Ogryns do it and they're larger. I honestly thought the whole no terminators in Valkries thing was foolish too. Touted as a flying chimera powered by the same nonsenseolium that the rest of the Imperial tech is, but what, the massive back bay door just wasn't wide enough? Yet, now we have the Pstorm Raven. I always thought they couldn't ride Rhinos as they are too heavy, rather than big. nurglez
Aye, as fair as I know, termies could always ride in a chimera, taking up 2 spaces of course. DeathKorpsman
Sheesh, complaining that you can only get a hood on a very solid HQ choice Librarian? I play IG, I wish I had anything that granted psychic protection because frankly going up against some lists without it is totally obnoxious. Seriously, a Primaris Psyker should totally be able to get one, most of the models and art have a 'hood' of some sort. Its not that big of a stretch. Luckily, nearly everything in 40k that isn't a vehicle can go down to massed lasgun fire. That usually works. Cutting down a Trygon with lasguns (admittedly after a few wounds to meltas and plasmaguns) was a personal favorite. Reclusiarch Darius
Dunno why you'd not take the Librarian. Also, how is it a drawback you have to take a Terminator bodyguard? They're Troops, other armies have to take mediocre heroes to get access to the same ability, or don't have it at all. Srsly, an Inquisitor might seem like a cheaper option, but he's pretty meh compared to the powers you can take on the Librarian. Not to mention you can cast 'Shrouding' and 'Sanctuary' in enemy turn, while casting 'Quicksilver' and 'Might'/'Hammerhand' in your turn.
