Flesh Tearers Chaplain

Recommended Posts

For those that have seen my previous post about my Furioso Dreadnought might also remember that there was also a Chaplain in the pipeline waiting for its turn to be treated by Cadaver's hands. Well, no need to wait any longer. My Reclusiarch is here and woe upon those that do not bow with respect to his crozius. The conversion and choice of colour-scheme is mine and Cadaver is the Adeptus Painter. I hope you enjoy as much as I do a paintjob that to my humble opinion manages to capture the true feeling of 40k.

I really appreciate your feedback ppl! I personally like the helmet and the way it fits into a chaplain (having in mind it originally is a chaos piece if I'm not mistaken! ) The "eyebrows" I think is a result of the lightning of the photo, in reality the shades are more subtle.

Glad that you like him Beast_of_Amareo! On to the next one I guess :D

You did a great job painting this, no question there. I love how the gold turned out on the right shoulder pad.

My only concern is the crozius and it's really only one of personal taste (I've always thought of the crozius as a bashing weapon, yours looks like it would catch a lot of resistance on a swing).

@Meatgrinder: Yes, this is a mini-bayonet. It was not a difficult conversion, just a hacked chainsword. I thought that maximising the close-combat accessories in the model would fit well with the Flesh Tearers theme.

@Haunter!: I was always imagining crozius as a slashing/blunt weapon. The winged emblem has its wings shaped like blades. In fact, it is the only one I have come accross so far that looks so blade-like. It's more like an axe with winged-shaped blades and some nasty serrated edges (FT there again here) formed by the feather tips.

A general note etc, it is true that whatever Cadaver has in painting skills, he lacks in photography :D . So, the Chaplain has no brows, etc. You can see what I am talking about in the WiP photos (may things have changed since then :P )
