landoro
Hello In the description for The Summoning it says that the placement of the unit is done using the deep strike rules, however does this mean that all the effects of deep striking is also used or could you assault with a unit that was the target of THe summoning? have fun landoro Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227331-the-summoning-rules-question/ Share on other sites
veidin
using the rules for deep striking means you follow all rules for deep striking which includes not assaulting. Unless a unit has a special entry in the codex that allows it of course which nothing in C:GK has. number6
Also don't forget that if you summon a vehicle it will actually count as having moved Flat Out rather than the usual Cruising Speed. (See the rules for Warp Stabilization Field.) This means that you won't be able to summon a land raider to your side and then have the dudes inside run down the assault ramp for some ass-kicking. B) Sad, really. That would be SO COOL! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227331-the-summoning-rules-question/#findComment-2723176 Share on other sites
veidin
Im running a summoner list currently. Deep strike Libby with Mordrak/Ghost Knights behind the enemy on turn 1 then on the next turn summon over a Storm Raven with Interceptor Marines and Hurrican bolters. Due to Shadow Skies they could disembark safely where it lands and shoot at least (no assault though :P ) Plus you can unload the hurricane bolters, all 4 missles, and one of the main guns with POTMS. All of this in the rear of the enemy while your main army is still popping off shots from the front B) Good times! You cannot fire defensive weapons if you've moved faster than combat speed (or cruising speed for fast vehicles). You'd only be able to fire one gun under the machine spirit. I do still fancy doing a summoner type list though. Having vehicles capable of being summoned for like 5 pts, I really want to have a load of Rhinos on the table in cover and then get a Level 3 librarian to summon over 3 of them in a big pile... They dont even have to have troops in, I just think its funny. ++Edit++ Inclusion of fast vehicle exception. nurglez
walkers cannot always assault, if they deepstrike using a drop pod, they cannot assault. So no to walkers assaulting, but they can shoot everything they have unless I'm mistaken.
