Brother Nihm Posted April 14, 2011 Share Posted April 14, 2011 It looks like the paint went on a bit too thick, particularly on the first one. They could also do with some highlighting, edge-highlights as a minimum. I'm also not entirely sold on the sanguinary-pad helmet. hushrong Posted April 14, 2011 Share Posted April 14, 2011 Looks off to a good start! I agree with Brother Nihm about the paint. On some parts of the dread you can see the streaks that reveal the base coa, lLike in Dread 1 Side 1 pic. I would also suggest for the gold to add a little something into the mix. Gold just never seems to go on as easily a boltgun metal or tin bitz. I used to paint the parts I wanted gold with scorched brown and then a layer or two of gold over it and it came out alright. I have lately been mixing some dwarf bronze or tin bitz with gold too. Just some suggestions to try out! Hope to see some more work on these fellas soon! Whisper Posted April 15, 2011 Share Posted April 15, 2011 I love how it seems like most of us Night Lords players are using the Blood Angels codex. They really should have made it a double Codex. Blood Angels and Night Lords. Toss in a couple Night Lords fluff stories, alternate names for a couple of the units, 1 or 2 Night Lords characters, and boom a codex that works for both Legions.
