Blood Angels Army

Recommended Posts

Here's my latest project, a Blood Angels Army. Overall, it took roughly 3 days to do ( a whole season of "How I met your mother" in fact, that's how I keep track of time )

Voila!

Three days huh.....guessing you own an airbrush? I'm really starting to hate that :)

Anyway, things look good. For some reason I can't help but feel the tank damage looks strangely....uniform. Oh well, if I can't explain a critique then it doesn't count. Nice work  Though unless my second glance deceives me...I see undrilled barrels :teehee:

Yeah, drilled barrels would take one more day :D

Nice work overall! I think some small touch ups, like getting some of the scratch bigger and weathering them a little, maybe adding some edge highlights would definitely make this army a killer.

Congrats, keep painting!

I played no parts in the assembly or the barrel drilling process of this army ( or non-barrel drilling in fact ) I only painted them.

Some more touch ups are required, like eyes for the helmetless marines, details aroud smoke launchers and real life battle damage repairs on the vindicator ( 3 games in and some paint gets scrapped of... tough life )

I will not add more battle damage as the tanks are pretty already heavy weathered, and if the guy I painted them for wanted depth in damaged, he would have hacked away samurai style with a knife I'm sure ( or barrel drilling :P ). The same applies for extreme highlights, although up close and personnal they would probably be killer tanks in themselves , they already look like a killer army, and that's what my guy paid for: Tabletop Friendly Army.

@ FirePower: Yeah, if you paint armies ( or more than 5-10 models at a time ) airbrushing really gets you to the results quicker. In this case, it also helps create a weathering patern that would be endlessly long to recreate with pigments/oil/paint and a brush. Of course it's not the same standard, but it can get you an above average table top quality for sure.
