Tribal-Bob
So I'm having some troubles with the GKSS Psycannons - specifically, they're a bit of a pain in the butt to build. Anyone have any tips on how to put these things together? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227608-assembling-psycannons/ Share on other sites
Ashe Darke
I know what you mean. I ended up gluing the right arm on first, getting it at about the right level and then lying them on their back on an un-level surface. Then once that one is set go for the left. They are a pain though you're right. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227608-assembling-psycannons/#findComment-2726970 Share on other sites
Freman Bloodglaive
If they're anything like a plastic heavy bolter I'd say assemble and paint the weapons, then stick on the right arm, then stick on the left arm. Joasht
Get some good, thick plastic cement. Those that are so thick, it starts melting the second you apply it. Rapidly apply them to all the joints and hold them together. I did that for my GKSS psycannons, and they went on fine without much hassle :tu: (I used the thick Tamiya cement, white cap, not the yellow or green capped ones). Angelis Mortis
What I do is take a very, very tiny ball of green stuff and attach all the points that need attaching. Once I get it aligned in position, its just a matter of going to all the points with green stuff and applying a dab of glue. This is about the best way I have found to get it right. Its cheaper. I bluetacked the right arm to the torso, then glued the gun to the right arm and checked the fit of the right arm. If that was all good, glue the right arm to the torso (by removing the bluetac first), if not, by using plastic glue you have a bit of time to reposition things before it sets. Then glue the left arm to both the gun and the torso. Definitely a pain. jimbo1701
Alternatively, if you wanted a more retro look to things, swap out the left arm for the standard bolter-holding arm and have the GK hold the psycannon from below. I swear, why can't GW just use a triangular tab and hole like they do on the new devastator marines. This is made worse by the fact that I don't want to glue the weapon in yet (I like to paint it separately so I can get in around the chest with my brush easier.) The blue tac might work best, though. Might need to go buy some, I think mine's so old it no longer holds... anything.
