bl00d bath76
Im sure many of you out there just like me love the death cult assasins and crusaders. However the ones gamesworkshop sells are VERY expensive with only 2 or 3 poses. Can any of you help me out here. I was thinking of converted witches from dark eldar for the assasins but no i idea how it could be done. Crusaders anybody? WingsOfTheFalcon
Wargear: Flak Armour, Power Weapon, Storm Shield. The great thing about the inquisition is you can take ANY model you want and use it for the army so long as the Wargear matches up. If you're desperate for them to be cheap then try investigating the plastic WHFB Empire range, good range of heavily armoured warrior minis. RandomGuy
Bret men at arms. Paint the shield up with an =I= symbol and maybe change the head for something more grizzled maybe from the empire flagellant kit. The flagellant kit makes excellent priests/banisher as well. For death cults either dark eldar wyches or you could use dark elf corsairs. If you don't mind metal either then either wardancers or manflayers would work as well. They don't work out too expensive either. Wildfire
Several people have suggested Enforcers from the Necromunda range as Crusaders. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227708-death-cult-assasins-and-crusaders/#findComment-2727721 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
I agree with RandomGuy. Men-at-arms are by far the nicest and cheapest choice. You get 16 for $35. I wish 40k had those rates. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227708-death-cult-assasins-and-crusaders/#findComment-2727724 Share on other sites
Freman Bloodglaive
I have a few witch elves who will be DCA. I have a Goblin Fanatic who'll be a Arco-Flagellent. LordGates
I had planned on using Dark Elf Witch Elves as my assassins. Then I planned on sculpting masks over their faces, maybe some ribbed armor over their bodies. I planned on putting the -][- over the center of the masks as well. Caius
This is something that I've thought about doing for a while as well, although I would first like to get my DraigoWing finished before it. For looking at Inquisitorial henchmen it is worth looking at other manufacturers like Privateer Press. To give two examples: Daughters of the Flame for Death-Cult Assassins and Precursor Knights for Crusaders. You won't get the right base sizes if you buy those so you'll also need to buy some GW bases. They are all metal modes but they're not that expensive. On the other hand these two should be easy to use with minimal (if any) conversion necessary. landoro
I have a catachan theme on all my Inqusition stuff so I used models from the catachan command sprue, I used anormal sword attached on a power fist, looks really cool. Gentlemanloser
Seeing as the two Crusdaers are robed, I'd even consider using the robes from the DA upgrade sprue. Then some plastic arms with Power Sword and Storm shield. Just leave off the PA Backpack! ps209
I used two squads of ten dark eldar whiches i converted as death cult assasins there arms to carry a mix of their own weapons and some old vampire count weapons. I sanded of the tell tale eldat spikes and burnt of the eldar markings from their gaunlets. I think they really good and the have all the posture one would expect of death cult assasins. Given that they're equipped with storm shields it doesn't really matter what armour you put them in (except terminator armour). Even power armour would work. Tongalad
I used wyches as DCA's....you'll need minimal converting to cut pistols off & replace with blades etc. And used Bretonnian Men at arms as crusaders (used Max mini mechanical shields on the standard bearer & musician figures). Flagellants for acolytes or psykers. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227708-death-cult-assasins-and-crusaders/#findComment-2785571 Share on other sites
