Dexo
Hi Ever since i startet playing 40K back in 4th edition i have wanted to start a Spacemarien army just to include a Landraider. Now i have decided to start a Grey Knight army and the only thing im 100% sure about is i will bye a Landraider. Now to my question :) What type of Landraider to chose and what unit to put in it ?? DeathKorpsman
My personal choice, were I to field one, would be Purifiers. They can assault out of it (awesome), they have some heavily armored wheels to get them across the board (great because they don't have Deep Strike), and I think Land Raiders are just cool. I wouldn't put anything super spendy in there, because you don't want to reward your opponent too much by him popping it early and being able to potshot a deathstar unit as it ambles across the board. Purifiers aren't super cheap, but they aren't termie expensive which is about as good as it gets in this Codex. My second choice would be the cheapest, i.e. an Inquisitor warband kitted out for CC. Crusaders, DCA's, and some warriors maybe to soak wounds. If you are going to take a fighty inquisitor, you could throw some stock servitors in there as well for strength 8 servo arm hits on vehicles or MC's. Dexo
I like the idea of putting purifiers in a landraider, how will you equipt them, and what type of landraider to take ? DeathKorpsman
Either Incinerators or Psycannons, your preference. I'd probably go with some Incinerators, but not the full allotment. Too many is a waste of a Purifier, since he could be beating things to death with his NFW. So in a squad of 10, maybe 2 or 3 Incinerators at most, with the rest of the squad equipped with Halberds except for one or two regular guys (not the Knight of the Flame) with Daemonhammers. The squad would be a little spendy, but would hit like a truck coming out of a Land Raider. Thrain
While Purifiers or maybe even Paladins might be the obvious choice for a LR Crusader or Redeemer, I'm going in a different direction. I'm tossing a good old fashioned Strike Squad in a standard LR with Godhammers. I love the standard LR but it's just not a great assault vehicle due to it's weapon load out. It seems to me though that it should be great as a taxi / bunker for holding an objective with a troops choice in it. Daedalus Templarius
I put unique squads of paladins in mine. Redeemer has Draigo +5 Paladins, the Crusader has a Librarian +6 Paladins. They are pretty nasty when they come out. A strike squad in a Phobos pattern (standard) would be a wonderful objective holder and long range AV. Too bad I'd fill all my heavy support slots that way, lol.
